Lineker's Left Foot Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Well the way our club is being run and for a club our size, it isn't good enough that we're near the bottom of the Championship. Only our club could 'cock up' takeovers. So, just goes to show where these other three mystery takeover bidders were now that the MM deal has gone 't*ts up'. IMO, it's just lies, lies, lies about these other parties.

Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Just think, Dennis Wise earned that every 10 days he spent with us... Correction - he was paid that amount. To say he "earned" it implies some sort of merit, which was actually notable by its absence throughout the dwarf's stay with us.

Especially when Mandaric himself hasn't exactly been a stickler for the truth during this entire episode..
Brummie-FOX Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Don't be so melodramatic! If Colchester, with no money and no fans, can make a go of it in this league there's absolutely NO reason why we shouldn't do so... Colchester have the fighting spirit. Greg Halford is the only player there with a known reputation. We have a few but never perform as well as the minnows.
Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Colchester have the fighting spirit. Exactly. They knew from pre-season they'd be in for a battle, and prepared accordingly. Just like we did during the Martin O'Neill years. Someone needs to come in and bring that spirit back. It won't be Mandaric though..

The so called ' big clubs ', MAYBE like ourselves just like to pick up pay at the end of the week. Leeds - Struggling. Colchester - ..Wow ( Biggest wage p/w must be 2000k ) When Colchester beat us in two weeks, hopefully we'll learn their style of play.

But it is quite obvious that we need something at this club to make us what we used to be, admited we have never had money and weve done it before, but atm it looks like everyone has given up! and there is not even a penny to spare, we need the mandarich deal desperatly. and about colchester they wont do that well all season! pure begginers luck look at hull they did that last season now look! and Luton and now there stuck mid-table.
lookwhaticando Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 I don't like the sound of these 'whispers'. They're suspect sources of information and should be ignored - for now. We're no closer to knowing what will happen, so there's little need for all the speculation about the wild consequences we will suffer with or without a successful bid.
Isopen Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Have you seen this today Mail on Sunday: Joe Bernstein on the transfer window, mainly about Pompey however says ".....but it is thought that Mandaric has not received his £47 million, which has led to a delay to the former Pompey owner's proposed takeover at Leicester City" So maybe the dragging of heels isn't down to the City board after all

Except this source is 100% genuine, and will be revealed to the local media within the next couple of days. The resignation of a director, who has been a central figure in talks on this deal, is not something that can be kept quiet for very long.

The resignation of a director, who has been a central figure in talks on this deal, is not something that can be kept quiet for very long. So what's his justification for resigning - is he for or against the deal? Either way it sounds like he's copted out and can't stand the heat - he'll still have to vote.
Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Sources present at Southampton yesterday have let it be known that the value is way too low and there have been NO guarantees given about the future of the Way or the training ground, or whether funds will be given to strengthen the squad. This doesn't exactly read like Mandy's being welcomed with open arms, does it? Maybe he should try talking to the board and shareholders directly, instead of conducting negotiations via the local tabloid.
Swedging Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Except this source is 100% genuine, and will be revealed to the local media within the next couple of days. The resignation of a director, who has been a central figure in talks on this deal, is not something that can be kept quiet for very long. The directors are, I believe: Andrew Taylor Anthony Wheeler Anthony Lander Gregory Clarke James Johnson James McCahill Malcolm Stewart Smith Martin Glenn Tim Dim Timothy Storer And the 3 who were/are the central figures in the talks were, I believe, Dim Tim, Taylor and Lander (CEO, chairman and Co. Sec.). The others you might expect to be fairly central would probably be McCahill, Wheeler & Storer.
He's not bald Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 They have NO more money than us. Any that they have is going towards their new ground. Nor do they have the backing of mega-corporations like Walkers or Alliance& Leicester. Their average crowd is less than 6000 and their playing budget is probably a fifth the size of ours. Yet they lie ELEVEN points, and eleven places, ahead of us in the table. That speaks volumes for the quality of the management, past and present, at our club. Unless and until that problem is addressed, let alone resolved, we will continue to struggle. Our problems have little to do with money. It's time some fans woke up to that fact. Ultra I could'nt agree more..wev'e tried throwing money at the problem before (Mr Taylor ) that's why were are in this mess

If it's all the same to you, I'd rather wait to see this tasty little revelation announced officially before I believe it.
Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 I don't blame you for being sceptical. There has been an awful lot of dross posted here and elsewhere about this topic. But when the story does break, remember where you read it first.

tewkesbury-fox Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Its so exciting all this speculation will he wont he...gotta agree with ultra theres a fair few teams who seem to be doing a lot better than us without the limited resources we have...you need good motivated bunch of pros to scramble out of this division ...happy new year !!!!!

Steven Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 This has been posted on another forum by 1966. Well it seems we have reached the end game now.Their has indeed been a resignation, and a full board member at that. The final offer will see; MM buy the club for £1/2m, the club remaining as gaurantors of the loan without link to MM (MM will not be liable for a penny of it), no gaurantees that should MM decide to walk away he would not recoup his innitial investment by selling assetts like the training ground, no investment in players from his own pocket (this would be achieved through extra debt), no gaurantees of any further payments to the existing shareholders. MM's committment will be £1/2m and the words "trust me". So their we have it for £1/2m MM will own the club lock stock and barrell, with absolutely no come back if it all goes horribly wrong. If it did go horribly wrong of course then we would be a lot lot worse off than now because of the vastly increased debt. Get ready for the ride of your life.
Brummie-FOX Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Lets see what the new Year brings Nothing definate, so stop getting worried
lookwhaticando Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 This has been posted on another forum by 1966. Interesting. I can't see the shareholders accepting less than 10% of their shares supposed worth. Just how much hidden debt is there? Still... early days yet.
