Milan Mandaric is reportedly ready to make Iain Dowie the new manager of Leicester if he completes his takeover of the club.

The former Portsmouth chairman has launched a £25million bid for the Foxes, and wants the deal to go through by mid-January.

The People claims that Mandaric will sack current boss Rob Kelly and hand Dowie, himself axed by Charlton earlier this season, £8million to spend in the new year.

what? i shot down the article. Didn't mention you at all

that 8 million transfer kitty stated looses the article all credibility

unless the £8M is inclusive of wages and loans as well then its not so beyond belief

I don't think Dowie is a footballing Jesus, but he's better than Kelly. I can't see Mandaric suffering fools too gladly after all the hassle this deal has given him, if Dowie ends up a load of toss I'm sure Dowie'll be gotten rid of. Either way, he's no worse than Taylor, Basset, Adams, Levein or Kelly and I'd much prefer him to Jamie ****' Redknap.

Disagree. Doesn't really strike as a motivator at all. That said, some of his purchases weren't too shabby. He brought Ashton, Leon McKenzie and Earnshaw, right?

My family live in Norfolk and I know alot of Norwich fans. Would rather have David O'Leary than Nigel Worthington and that is really saying something!

His lack of personality is mirrored in the perfomances of his teams and if you are sick of the excuses of Kelly and Levein just wait until Mr Motivater gets started. How Worthington managed to avoid the sack for so long I will never know.

That's the clincher, surely? ;):P:D

Dowie is a proven manager at this level.

So surely there's no real arguements regarding him coming hear.

RK's had his chance, and i think it would be a big mistake to let him loose with our transfer kitty ( becuase of his lack of experience ).

Rule of thumb - don't believe a word of ANY article that mentions the sum "25 million".

I know an Oldham fan and he is full of praise for Dowie. Apparently he worked for free for a year and funded the players pre season traing to germany out of his own pocket. He managed to get players in for nothing and had them sold behind his back.

He was always seen around the town generally being a good chap.

Also i would liek to see a bid for their striker. Chris Porter he's very close to Billy Sharp on the scoring charts and a good all round player, in facts hes now level. 17 goals in 20 games.

Although The Sun is not exactly the pinnacle of intellectual, reliable and accurate journalism the article about Dowie from the other day leaves me slightly wary of potentially pursuing him as a potential future manager.

Dowie is an idiot, potentially

:D

Why does Bob Dowie have to be warned away?

Dowie's starting to look like one of the few realistic and acceptable candidates but I have my doubts.

I don't think he'll prove a footballing visionary - and the eccentricities listed in the Sun article make me even more concerned. I still hope someone else will emerge but everytime they do, the man gets scuppered and I end up thinking Beaglehole's the only sane option.

But change we need because I'm still reeling from the managerial decisions of Monday and the way we played Saturday. It was like getting hit by a left hook and right cross in quick succession. Honestly I still feel punch drunk.

Even worse was the realisation of how far we really are off the pace. I don't mean points wise but development wise.

Looking at those matches I don't think there's a single Leicester player I'd give a shit about selling. And that not only tells its own story but gives an indication fo the job that needs doing here.

Well at the very least he can sue if this material is incorrect as it would be persuasive in turning him down for any job he applied for.

I'm not impressed by his managerial credentials which were largely achieved by gaining promotion with palace from a low league position at Christmas. This was based largely on the strength of the fire power of Andy Johnson who was scoring in virtually every game (he was a signing of the previous manager). After promotion he failed to stop a disastrous slide and having made a promising start lost a whole series of games he might have expected to win and they fell out the division. His Frank Spencer style attempts at managing Charlton (to which can be added the hapless rubbish he signed at great expense) if true hardly redeems his reputation.
