He's not bald Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 For someone who thinks the FT gets too much attention for the number of fans they represent you certainly make a point of mentioning them and drawing attention to them often enough, do you secretly love them. I for one will remember all the negative stuff the pessimists have spouted on here I truly believe the good times will soon be back and I expect then they will all jump on the bandwagon! That's great and just what we need...but remember that the faithful on here will always know who you are/were

Babylon Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 I for one will remember all the negative stuff the pessimists have spouted on here I truly believe the good times will soon be back and I expect then they will all jump on the bandwagon! That's great and just what we need...but remember that the faithful on here will always know who you are/were What a pile of crap. There is absolutely no problem with people wanting to know the facts before jumping on the bandwagon with you and your "faithful" friends. The trusts neutral stance is exactly the right one. I've been critical of them in the past over things but I believe they have done things correctly with the MM bid. Not 100% correct, but they aren't professionals, they don't get paid so I wouldn't expect them to get everything right.
Thracian Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 If you're right, then I guess we'll have to see whether Kelly has been taking a pessimistic or a realistic approach in his squad selection and tactics; has he been defensive because he thinks the squad is crap, or because that's his general approach. I don't know myself, but didn't someone say that he was attacking in his days as a youth coach? He could yet suprise us all. Funnily enough I wasn't thinking about Kelly or anyone else specifically when I wrote that. For Kelly, I wonder if it is already too late. That will give me no pleasure at all because I've no flag to fly for Dowie and really wish RK had let his soul talk for him rather than his text books. That's perhaps not easy to explain. But think of our matches. How often did we change a 1-1 draw to a 2-1 win because we threw caution to the wind and sent two extra strikers on to join the two already there. How often did we send eight men forward into the box in a stirring last 15 minutes to recover a 2-goal deficit?. How often did RK select a team and subs that said if the starting X1 don't take you apart I'll reinforce them from the bench until we do. There are so few Alex Fergusons or Bill Shanklys. Thinking like that is not so much bourne out of brainpower as attitude. An unswerving intent through which you determine to win from the start and refuse to be compromised. There's been little drama in our results. They've been fairly logical. And that, to me points to what's missing...the vital ingredient. The moment when the players look to their manager and say - he'll come up with something, he always does, and it won't be about taking one single step backwards. It doesn't make RK a bad manager. Inspired managers are rare.

They are fans, enthusiasts, well-wishers, people just doing their best. They really don't deserve so much flak.

Daggers Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 They are fans, enthusiasts, well-wishers, people just doing their best. Agreed - they've done nothing but wish the current board well.

Inspired managers are rare. Besides takes little to realise that when we attacked we put teams in real difficulty. But then maybe that intent requires energy and stamina, so maybe Kelly used caution correctly for once, not by choice as much of habit. Fulham looks like an impossible task, but an honorable performance is all i expect.
davieG Posted 14 January 2007 Author Posted 14 January 2007 Theres alot more to it than that, and you know it! Actually I don't, as already stated by me their communications have been poor, but then they are not professionals, this has lead people to assume they are against the MM bid, they are and have always been neutraI, waiting to see the facts relating to the deal, to which I could say as you well know.

They've attempted to do this, however they have stuffed it up on numerous occasions. The fact they aren't proffesionals is not an excuse, if they want to continue holding shares and carry on start having a say on what goes on at the club they're going to have to act alot more proffesionally IMO, otherwise they can do one asap, .
Daggers Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 <more stuff about the Trust> I think some people here have got it spot on...you have it hot for someone on the Trust dontcha? There's a fine line between love and hate so why don't we get Danny Cads in here to get rid of it so that you and the Trust can <deep American accent> get it awn! </deep American accent>

I may not have been here as long as you but I've almost certainly been a Leicester fan for a lot longer..I've seen so much..and enough to know this is possibly the best thing that has ever happened to us..wake up and smell the roses..idiot!

Who's the idiot. The person wanting full details about something before they agree to it, or someone who decides before knowing any details. Once again i'll say it, taking a neutral stance DOES NOT mean you are against something. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I'll agree at the start I more than agreed for you and called for a bit of caution, but the board have looked it at the deal, approved it, and it's looking like the deal is going to go through now (touch wood) so maybe it's time to drop the netural stance.

They've only approved it after seeing the formal bid, the other shareholders including the FT are are only just viewing the formal bid for the first time, having done so they are more than likely, just like the board to drop their neutral stance.

Just to make it clear, the bid document has not been circulated as yet. We understand more fine tuning was being done on Friday, so we will probably see it the middle of week now.
