morris1234 Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 well, at least we now know exactly where you stand on the matter. well yeah basically i dont care who he brings in, as long as they do the job!!
Babylon Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 Aye based on what has been said on here, he appears to be quite a nice bloke Of course he will come across nice, he is trying to make an impression. He isn't going to walk around spitting in peoples faces and telling them to feck off. Doesn't mean he is nice though. I can't think he'd follow us even to away games if he wasn't serious about buying us I would think it's obvious he is serious about buying us from the multi million pound bid he has put in.
renards Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 mandaric's 1st signing apparently is to replace kelly with dowie In fairness to Kelly he seems to have seen the light and is picking a team that most fans would agree is the best we have, shame his selections have been inconsistant and bizarre all season Bit of a debate over the subs
Thracian Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 In fairness to Kelly he seems to have seen the light and is picking a team that most fans would agree is the best we have, shame his selections have been inconsistant and bizarre all season Bit of a debate over the subs The good thing to me is that he's not doing anything more wrong than usual. His Chosen Men are mostly fit now and focusing on trying to be part of the Mandaric revolution and, because, that limited line-up is our preceived best team, we've taken four points from our last five League games and scored three goals, only a bit worse than normal but they were tricky games. As far as the League is concerned we've simply trodden water and we're now officially scoring at less than a goal a game in the League. But no matter. Half our fans sound as if they'd have taken a point from Colchester - and we did! Bravo. Same again next week.
davieG Posted 14 January 2007 Author Posted 14 January 2007 From sky Milan Mandaric is hoping to finally conclude his takeover of Leicester City in the coming days. The former Portsmouth chairman first made an offer for the Championship club over two months ago, but has yet to finalise the £25million purchase. Mandaric is now keen for the situation to be resolved within the next week and believes a deal is close to completion. The Serbian businessman also reiterated his ambition to restore The Foxes to a place in the Premiership. "We're trying to come close to concluding within several days," said Mandaric. "I'd like it to happen then. "I'm not interested in keeping Leicester at the level the club is now. My aim is to go back to the Premiership and nothing less than that. "This club belongs nowhere, but the Premiership. I want to elevate the club and bring it to the level the fans deserve. "I have a very ambitious plan and will do everything humanly possible to fulfil my plans. "I wouldn't want to get involved, if I wasn't going to do a proper job."
Daggers Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 a guy i was talking to on coach 2 said he spoke to TD during the game (in the seating section) and was told the board are due to resign towards the end of next week (he may have said week after) so it seems the takeover is all but complete So, no statement to the media - no press releases - no radio interviews...just a passing comment to Random Man on Coach 2. Fantastic - my favourite crap rumour from the entire thread. If not 'of the year'. Top marks

That's exactly the sort of uncompromising attitude I've wanted to hear from Leicester's leadership for ages. I'm still concerned about what might happen if it all goes financially pear-shaped and I'm even more concerned about having Dowie as manager cos he doesn't excite me one bit. But good luck to Mandaric and good luck to whoever he chooses to make the miracle unfold. He does sound like a bloke who wouldn't accept a point from Colchester if it was offered. And that's a start.

Steven Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 This is worth a read on another forum from a fan who met MM yesterday.
Thracian Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 I read up on his background the other day and I must say he does sound like a winner - but one who appreciates the importance of the common touch. He also sounds as if he has infectious enthusiasm. On the other hand I imagine any football employee who even thinks along the lines of containment, compromise, second best, defensive, can't do, won't do, that'll do, will be very quickly out the door. As will strikers who don't score, people without the heart to attack the box effectively, buck-passers and anyone not prepared to aim right for the top of the League. If I've read it right it should be interesting to see who survives the cul for more than a month or two. Some will need to have personality transplants. And I don't think that will just apply to the team and playing staff. Mandaric sounds as if he values positive PR. I wonder how the OS staff are feeling and everyone else in some small way responsible for the club's publicity and promotion. Leicester City I sense are going to have a dynamic, trend-setting, can do, will do profile at last. And I can't imagine Mandaric accepting "second best" or "negative" from anyone.. It's certainly not going to be boring.
Flynny Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 If you're right, then I guess we'll have to see whether Kelly has been taking a pessimistic or a realistic approach in his squad selection and tactics; has he been defensive because he thinks the squad is crap, or because that's his general approach. I don't know myself, but didn't someone say that he was attacking in his days as a youth coach? He could yet suprise us all.
Daggers Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 This is worth a read on another forum from a fan who met MM yesterday. Nice - it's good to hear positive things once in a while "My microwave is bigger than this" to the tune of "oh when the saints"
Simon Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 This is worth a read on another forum from a fan who met MM yesterday. Possibly the single most encouraging thing I've read since this whole episode started
Kilworthfox Posted 14 January 2007 Posted 14 January 2007 Possibly the single most encouraging thing I've read since this whole episode started I genuinely think that MM ha the clubs best interests at heart, it does not make sense that he would bother with us, go to the training ground, matches Colchester away for god's sake if he was not serious about LCFC. Those who spout these anti manderic tunes will be the first to cheer him when he comes i.e FT I will remember Mr Basons comments in the Mockery and on RL regarding MM's takeover and the tiggers groundshare which no majority far from it on either side of the city wants! Do you think Rapunzel questioned her rescuer when he turned up?

For someone who thinks the FT gets too much attention for the number of fans they represent you certainly make a point of mentioning them and drawing attention to them often enough, do you secretly love them.
