Gamesmaster Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Hendo 6 did what he hat to. Kenton 6.5 quite solid, poor crossing. Macarfy 7.5 lead the line well, dealt with incoming balls very well. Kisnorbo 7 good goal, steady, bar one incident when he slipped like bamby on ice. Johanson 6.5 did ok, but not a LB, and it shows at times. J-low 6.5, early mistake, but rose to it, and played well. Johnson 6.5 wanted the ball, distributed it well, tackled well. Hughes 6 played better, but seems a lost soul at times. Tiatto 5 is this guy a maniac? Fryatt 6 not his best performance, needs a goal badly. O'grady 6.5 held the ball well, flicked on well, no end product. Porter 7.5 breeds life into a team, has natural ability, brilliantly took the ball off their RB. Hume 6.5 linked well, so unlucky hitting the bar. Stearman 5 Kelly 6.5 must be doing something right, we look like winning, and we dont panic quite as much.
Mark Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Hendo - 6 Kenton - 6 Macarfy - 7 Kisnorbo - 7 Johanson - 5 J-low - 5 Johnson - 6 Hughes - 5 Tiatto - 6 Fryatt 5 - very dissapointing O'grady 7 Subs: Hume - 7, Porter - 7, Stearman - 6 Not the best of performance or game, but it's brought us a win. I just wish there was more urgency, we're so slow at times. It's time to stop Henderson playing long balls to Low, he is hopeless with his head and it wastes possession almost every time. Cat Burger Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 I'm still undecided on Fryatt, I've yet to see him play well. His goals seem to come from mistakes rather than fashioning opportunities for himself. He's not cutting it at the minute.

Thracian Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Henderson 7 (Nothing to do. Did it well!) Kenton 5 (Attacking fullback? You are joking of course) McCarthy 6.5 (Okay) Kisnorbo 8 (Tied MoM, the guy's a crackin defender) Nils 5 (Just gets in cos he's RK's mate) Low 6 (no great consequence) Johnson 6 (never dictated anything) Hughes 5 (How much easier could Levi make it to score) Tiatto 5 (another who's in the team on false pretences) Fryatt 6 (Did he need the sort of support available against Macclesfield) O'Grady 8 (tied with Kissa for MoM. Led the line a treat). subs: Hume 7 (energy) Porter 7.5 (class) Stearman 7 (did more in a few minutes as an attacker than Kenton did all match). Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Henderson 6 Kenton 7 Johansson 5 Kisnorbo 7 McCarthy 6 Tiatto 4 Johnson 5 Hughes 6 Low 6 Fryatt 5 O'Grady 6 Subs; Porter 7 Hume 6 Stearman 6 I thought we were rubbish today. Kenton, Kisnorbo and Porter were the only good players.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 You're so wrong about Kenton, Thracian. For one thing, Stearman was playing right wing when he came on so of course he's going to look more attacking. And two, we actually looked dangerous when Kenton overlapped Low. They made Johansson and Tiatto look like absolute tools. Also, Porter was awesome. Personally I thought O'Grady was quite poor. He led the line but he just doesn't look like a quality player. He spends the whole time playing the man rather than the ball. With a proper referee he will be giving away even more fouls than he did today with Mr Play On Play On. Knighton Matt Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Paddy M was a worry today he was constantly half a yard slower than Freddie Eastwood. As much as I like the guy he'll NEVER make it in the premiership his reactions are just too slow and against world class strikers he'll be exposed again and again and again. We'll never make it TO the Premiership with him in the side imho. And as captain he's virtually undroppable. Worries me.
De Vries The King Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Henderson 7 - looked safe enough Kenton 6 - average performance really, nothing special Johansson 6 - didn't really do to much right or wrong same as kenton Kisnorbo 9 - very valuable asset to the team, playd a cracker McCarthy 7 - not really a captains performance but still played well Tiatto 3 - awful, if there's one mistake Kelly's made it's playing Tiatto Johnson 7 - I like him, think he's consistent and looks quite good Hughes 7 - neds to sharpen up more and be more aware of players around him but again another sound performance. really should have scored Low 7.5 - consistent and wins us throws and corners and seems to me like a very good player Fryatt 4 - he needs to be dropped and get a taste of reality, he's not looked good yet so far this season O'Grady 9 - held the ball up well and put people through well, should be starting regularly now Subs; Porter 8 Hume 5 - really should have scored Stearman 7 - came on in last 10 minutes or so and did reasonably well
jet-plane Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Henderson 6.5 Had little to do. No mistakes Kenton 5.5 Quite careless Kisnorbo 7 Solid, brave committed header for his goal. Ability is limited but fortunately he knows this and doesn't try anything difficult. McCarthy 6 As above. Dumb booking again though Nils 5 Just cannot understand why we play him. There is no way that this guy can have more ability than Sheehan, his career is obviously going downhill and as he now has very little energy drive or ambition to invigorate his performances, what is the point in persevering with him over a highly rated, hungry academy player. Seriously can anyone highlight a reason for his continued selection other than the over-rated argument about experience. J Low 6 Importantly sticks to his wing to give us width and an out ball. Did OK A. Johnson 5.5 Similar comments to Nils. Trys but why not play Wesolowski? Hughes 5 Looks more and more like a poor sickly child. Low in confidence and physically weak. Tiatto 5 Hasn't the discipline to maintain his position and the teams width suffers. Like my mother, knows he hasn't got it anymore and embarrasses himself by over-eagerly trying to prove he still has. Fryatt 5 Very dissapointing today. He'll be fine though. O Grady 6.5 Stands out in our team as he looks like a proper player. Always available but needs to be told to get in the box more. Stood up well to their hard-looking back line, including one incident when he squared up and gave one of them a proper dig to show them he wouldn't be bullied. Porter 6.5 Gave us width and composure. Took his opportunity and played well again. Hume 6 Did OK, but is struggling to establish where we can play him. Needs to make his mark quickly before his career meanders to nowhere. Stearman. 6 A confident few minutes to tie up right side and ran the clock down well. Rob Kelly 6 Low marks for Tiatto choice and over reliance on long ball. Better marks for being brave enough to tell Tiatto he would be replaced by a teenager after 45 minutes, for playing CoG and then subbing Fryatt instead of CoG based on merit from the days showing. All in all a poor performance and i hope Kelly tells them so.
Bert Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 Rk said that they where the better team in the first quarter of the match. Anyway, ratings: Hendo: 6 - Should've came off his line early on, didn't and left Kisnorbo in a panic Kenton: 6 - Solid, shame about his crossing. "Skils": 5 - Not so skilfull today, 5hit distribution, Campbell-Ryce made him look like a Sunday league defender. Paddy Mac: 7 - Other than needless fouls he was excellent, his aggressive defending works. Kisnorbo: 8 - Motm. Awesome, 1 early scare due to Hendo but he played magnificent for the rest of the game. Low: 6 - Not as effective as he has been. Tiatto: 6 - He wern't great but he wasn't 5hit. Johnson: 5 - Doesn't merit a place with performances like this. Hughes: 6 - Was left doing most of Johnson's donkey work, meaning he couldn't play his game, some good passes and touches though. O'Grady: 7 - Very strong with a good touch, always looked liked creating. Fryatt: 5 - Going through a lean spell. Subs: Porter: 7 - very effective, accurate passing and blitzing runs. Hume: 6 - Energy and enthusiasm, should've scored. Stearman: 6 - Impressed in the five minutes he had, with some good pace and trickery.

reynard Posted 26 August 2006 Share Posted 26 August 2006 henderson 6 nothing much to do. kicking still average kenton 6.5 solid defensive display some woeful crosses though. mccarthy 5 another needless booking. ouit muscled not the great player people think he is. awful distribution. kisnorbo 8 great headed goal and some good defensive tackles our one saleable assett watchout in the next week. nils 5 dreadful distribution and not as solid in the air either. low 6 ok but nothing special. needs to be stronger. some good crosses. johnson 6 mr. average. simply hasn't got the legs any longer. hughes 6 ok. some nice touches needs to beef up. tiatto 5 headless chicken redeemed by 2 great deliveries from corners. cog 6 better 2nd half but anonymous in the first half when his 1st touch was poor. fryatt 4 dismal performance. never got into goal scoring postions and often failed to spot potential passes. porter 6 great going forward but left nils exposed on several occassions. looks promising but far from the finished article others not on long enough. escape2victory Posted 27 August 2006 Share Posted 27 August 2006 Henderson - 7 - Not alot to do but did it well Kenton - 6 - Solid defensively, would like to see him overlap more McCarthy - 7 - Did well defensively, needs to improve distribution Kisnorbo - 9 - Great header, and superb defending all day, kept Eastwood very quiet Johansson - 5 - Got caught out by their winger on a few occasions, poor distribution, stuck to his job tho Low - 7 - Holds his position well, gives us good width, needs to improve his final ball, tho good awareness to pick out Hume Johnson - 7 - Improved as game went on, won more second balls in second half, Hughes - 4 - Too lightweight and was off the pace, time to give Williams another try Tiatto - 5 - Works hard, lacks quality, the story of his career Fryatt - 5 - Lacked service, but also looked a bit lighweight and was often shrugged off the ball O'Grady - 7 - Some nice touches and flick on's but rarely looked like scoring Hume - 7 - Linked the play up well and should of scored twice Porter - 8 - Commits defenders and usually puts quality into the box, good work ethic also

Any defender, even some Premiership guys, would find such an elusive winger difficult. But, my lasting complaint is that when Nils does help break up attacks, he so often just plonks the ball in no-man's land where it's invariably lost, instead of passing and moving in support of our attacks.
