Last night i watched, How To Train A Dragon with my daughter.

She enoyed it, i didn't. It's from the makers of Shrek but doesn't live up to shrek's standards.

"Kick-Ass" is so-so.

I expected much more from it, or let's say, something different.

It's almost completely bereft of any sense of humour or irony - it's more of an American action movie/adult comic movie involving kids, with some obvious references to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.

Not to forget a pleasure for all of those with a fetish for weapons and gore.

And Kick-Ass doesn't even play the lead role in this, despite the promising beginning.

I was just about to post the following picture with the following comment:

"Film of the year. Already. You'd have to have no sense of fun at all to disagree. Masterpiece."

After reading Alexei's comment I now only feel more inclined to do so.

Honestly one of the best films I've seen in a while. Endlessly good fun, good sense of humour, some fist-bitingly, cringeworthily good violence and actually most noticably one of the best soundtracks/scores I've seen sync up to a movie in a very, very long time.

Without wanting to sound like an anti-piracy advert, it really is a film that deserves to be seen in the cinema - it will lose impact on a cheap computer screen but I'd completely recommend it to anyone who doesn't take themselves or life too seriously.

Sure theres alot of references to other films that arent well disguised at all(perhaps deliberately??) but I havent laughed that much in a long time.

As for the action I thought it was brilliant... that kids a star in the making thats for sure.

Went to see that kick ass last night. Thought it was really good. Laughed at everything tbh. The action bits are awesome aswell.

Superbad is good but I thought the other two were terrible. Maybe it's just me but I just don't find Seth Rogan that funny at all.

I like stupid comedies but I agree, I'm not a fan of his, infact I find him a little irritating especially his weird laugh.
