The People's Hero Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Is that idle conjecture or an informed statement? I'm really hoping its the former. Please please please.
Ric Flair Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Is that idle conjecture or an informed statement? It's a lie, but it's one that will turn out to be true sadly.
Thracian Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Carl Asaba will also sign today. I don't know whyw e don't use the alledged money from our full house attendance against Villa to bring in Neil Shipperley and Lee Hendrie until January. £10 x 15,000 season ticket holders = £150,000 Plus the remaining tickets they sell at higher prices will equate to a few hundred thousand pound we wouldn't of had should we have been knocked out. That would cover both wages. Hendrie maybe - but if MON doesn't want him there's sure to be a good reason - and the Shipp's likely to sink when it comes to getting the goals we need.

Ric Flair Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Hendrie maybe - but if MON doesn't want him there's sure to be a good reason - and the Shipp's likely to sink when it comes to getting the goals we need. Villa and Leiecster are at completely different ends to the scale, just because they don't want him doesn't mean he couldn't drop down a division and make an impact. The gulf in class between Villa and ourselves and our league is massive. Plus, O'Neill has said he wants to loan him out to get much needed games under his belt. He's not said he's not wanted at Villa any longer, it's just that with Steven Davis, Petrov, McCann, Barry, etc they aren't going to play Hendrie in a hurry. Also, Shipperley although he's not a pretty footballer is one of the best players in the air in this country and scored alot of crucial goals for Sheff United last season. It's come to desperate measures now and if we are going to hoof the ball then atleast get a striker in who'll score us goals as a result of it. A few goals and wins might lead to the team settling down abit and playing football.
The People's Hero Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Shipperley would be a good signing. I really don't think we necessarily *need* a forward though. We need to have a look at a different midfield combo, possibly Weso/Williams. We need to get Hume involved and then we need to take it from there. If Weso/Williams can't cut it, I'd suggest we NEED a central midfielder. I don't think we need another forward.

I think Hendrie and Shipperley would sort these cheb ends out. Hume and Shippers upfront with Hendrie and Wesolowski in the centre of mid, different gravy that.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 By the way Ric, TWO loan signings? Villa money or no Villa money, you wait til Manwell sees this!
The People's Hero Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 You're forgetting the club line... 'That money have already been accounted for' 'What do you mean? How can it have been accounted for - how did you know we'd get Villa in the cup? Did you just guess? Hardly prudent' 'We've errr... got to go!'
Ric Flair Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 By the way Ric, TWO loan signings? Villa money or no Villa money, you wait til Manwell sees this! It's still probably £300k we wouldn't of had, had Conrad Logan not played last tuesday. Spend the ****er and show the fans some ambition.

Ric Flair Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Well, if it happens I hope it works but Shipps has always been a "nearly" centre-forward to me. He's never really been any better than a championship forward, but thinking short term if we could get a striker in who could score us some goals and give the team some confidence then it would be worthwhile. Especially is Fryatt is injured, I could picture a Shipperley and Hume partnership. He's not anything special but I just cannot see this team being coached to play passing football whilst Kelly is here, so if he wants to keep his job then he should bring in a striker who's good in the air.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 By the way Ric, TWO loan signings? Villa money or no Villa money, you wait til Manwell sees this! TBH I was thinking the same thing when I read we were expecting a sell out at the amount we were charging. Although no doubt the answer to the problem will be the cheap option of Carl Asaba.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Word on the semi reliable street is that it's the dreaded metatarsel.
Ric Flair Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Word on the semi reliable street is that it's the dreaded metatarsel. Christmas then before he's even worth bothering with.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 He's not good enough to break his metatarsal. It'll just be reported as his foot.
The People's Hero Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 He's not good enough to break his metatarsal. It'll just be reported as his foot. This is true. Although didn't Phil Neville break his metatarsal? He probably took a hammer to it. Cu nt.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 What the fock is up with all those George Michael pictures on Talking Balls?
Louise Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 If this is true, does anyone get that horrible 'this is just the beginning' kind of feeling, about our luck? It's just the sort of thing you hear from teams who get relegated 'oh our main striker was injured' etc.... It's a disaster in my opinion, before we had Fryatt Hume hardly scored a thing and we relied on Joey and de Vries, two players we no longer have. Even though we continue to be over-budgeted, we must now get a player in on loan, who probably won't even be to Fryatt's standard... Don't panic..

Not getting my knickers in a twist till its confirmed and whoever comes in for him fails to do a job.
dynamite foxes Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 beginning of the end!...hence the need for MM, but no of course we don't need him, cos we will be fine and we are lucky to be still be a football club
Babylon Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 What the fock is up with all those George Michael pictures on Talking Balls? DUNNO
Head Honcho Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 I honestly can't think of any player I'd want on loan Think I'd rather have MDV back then take a chance on any of the Donkey's being mentioned on here.
