Williams would be in my side everytime.

Even if he is not having the best game there is a little hop that he may doing something a bit special as he has it in his locker.

He is the best of a bad bunch i guess(meaning johnson, hughes and williams)

I mean the creative side, the bit where we actually have the ball. I know it doesn't happen often.

Kenton and Kisnorbo can defend, defense spilting passes are hardly their area is it.

Mcarthy is ovvverrr ratteedddd!!!!

That wasn't quite what your original post said.

My point was that they were still decent footballers, even if not especially creative ones.

McCarthy over-rated? You're having a laugh.

He's captain for a reason.

Don't you think that his attitude might be a bad influence on some of the younger members of the side?

I see we're now the source of this Gallagher rumour with a highly creditable 3 rating

I know what your saying, but don't you think playing with players with ability would benefit young players?

He is not exactly old either remember.

Pm is good but not as good as people make out, they like him as he shows a bit of passion.

Me and my mates had a discussion about which of our current players could make it in the premiership now and i was the only one that said McCarthy wouldn't, there is a reason why we brought him for 50k.

(The players i said were - Kisnorbo, Stearman, Weso Willaims and Hume)

Kisnorbo - probably

Stearman - yes

Weso (if injury free) - yes

Williams - maybe not (for reasons I have said in another thread.)

Hume - yes if he had a kick up the arse

You doubt Fryatt would make it in the Prem then??

Surely you only forgot to mention Nils?!? I mean, he's gota be Premiership class right??:unsure::whistle:

 If half our team could make it in the Premiership we wouldn't be in this mess. We have a barely competent Championship team full of barely competent Championship players.

That I agree with. We wouldn't be in the mess we currently find ourselves in. I never said half our team could make it in the Premiership - there's more members of our team I don't think would make it than would make it.

Everybody thinks Stearman would when he's in form (which he currently isn't), which is why a Prem club came in for him (during pre-season was it??).

Weso too could make the grade at top level I'd think, but he needs to play his way back in gradually after coming back from two broken legs in such a short space of time.

Paddy K might well be able to make it in the higher land as well I'd say, he can score and is looking increasingly more solid at the back for us. My only concern with him would be suspensions (although he isn't as bad for it as Paddy M).

I wouldn't see Hume at a more established/higher Premiership side, but I reckon he could well play for one of the teams that were lower mid-table or trying to avoid relegation. Hardly the best clubs I know but it's still the Premiership and with improved service I reckon he'd score more goals than he is for us atm.

A couple more might be able to do it with age and experience, but atm I'd say the listed names and for the reasons given could well play in the Prem at any given time, and 4 players isn't half a side :P;)

No well I was quoting Bert as well and five players is "half a team" for arguments sake. Besides, you also inferred that Fryatt could be labelled Premiership class.

God knows what some of our fans would think of our players if we were actually any good.

It's all a bit what if for my liking (if he was on form, if he had the service, if he wasn't injured etc.)

The bottom line is that we only have one player who looks truly Premiership class and has done for the past nine months or so. The best of the rest are top-half Championship players even on a good day.

I asked Bert whether or not he though Fryatt was good enough to play in the Premiership seeing as he had Williams down as being good enough, I didn't mean to infer anything about Fryatt :)

I agree that it is all a question of " what if ", and maybe it isn't the best thing to base opinions on. Players shouldn't have to rely on ifs and buts as excuses for not producing the goods they are paid to deliver, or play at the level they are capable of playing at. But they do, and excuses are constantly made - as shown by the National team and one Wayne Rooney in particular atm.

Your opinion differs to mine, and I understand that mine is a little unconventional in the sense that it deals with many ifs and buts, anf that there are a lot of conditions to it whereas yours is a little more cynical and sharp. But each to their own and everybody is allowed to express their opinion right??

(if I'm going seriously wrong in the LC forum, which I think I am, I'll be returning to General Chat and only posting here on matchdays!!)

Gallagher apparently (from a journalist 'source' of mine in Lancashire !) 'pulled out' of the deal on Friday, FOR THE TIME BEING because, a) City were not offering him enough wages (then) and b) Blackburn have got some striker injuries and told him that he would at least be on their bench, for the next couple of weeks. Kelly (actually told the journo on Saturday night, that he) will wait on more news on Fryatt, before deciding whether to resurrect the Gallagher deal, look elsewhere, or (on the form on Saturday), stick with Hammond and Hume.

Birch just said we missed out on Stead!! So perhaps we weren't after Gallacher.

I would of had a FIT if we had signed John Stead.

EDIT: Barber your an idoit. He went up three levels for a start he was in League Two, and he's not something differnt to what we already, we have plenty of shit thanks.

Dammit, Gallagher would have been good as well.....

Oh well, Kelly still wants/ needs somebody to fill Matty's boots.

I say Leon Knight, he's had a fallout with Kenny Jackett.

we do need someone as 3 1st team strikers aint enough.

Gallagher would have been a good addition but if we cant afford him so be it. he obviosly doesnt want 1st team football that bad?

lcfc4theprem im with your suggestion of LK but right now he would be a gamble and we dont need that, we need an experienced (ish) player who can fill a gap and score a few goals. not prove a point and win a place.
