Mort Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 Hoult wouldn't come to us to be a second or third choice keeper. Sorry, didnt make it clear, I'd have Hoult in as first choice keeper, with Logan as second choice and Henderson as a third choice. Toderov wouldnt be my first choice (as i said Harewood and M Bent would be the loan strikers i'd like to get in, if we could) but i still think it highly likley that we'd get him... should the bid go through and it'd be interesting to see how he did at this level. I'm sure Izzet plays on both the right and midfield, failing Izzet how bout Oster from Reading (but isnt he a first team regular over there?).
dandannieldanok Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 Danny Pugh. Dunno if he's any good but what a funny name! He is good but is a regular at Preston so will be unlikely to want to leave.

Brummie-FOX Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 Rowan Vine (Luton) Daniel Sturridge (Manchester City) My mates brother used to know Sturridge, I think they played football together.. At a club of course, not in a park or anything.
Ric Flair Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 why be so unambitious, why not ronalhinio? Never heard of him.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 why be so unambitious, why not ronalhinio?Never heard of him. Just like Ronaldinho except ugly!!!!
Mort Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 why be so unambitious, why not ronalhinio? I dont think either Harewood or M Bent would be unrealistic loan signings... I dont doubt they'd be tough to get but not impossible.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 I dont think either Harewood or M Bent would be unrealistic loan signings... I dont doubt they'd be tough to get but not impossible. I think Harewood is almost impossible. Tevez and Cole are out of favour and Sheringham is too old to lead the line from the start of a game. That leaves Zamora and Harewood like Curbs played against Man Utd. As for Bent there is a slight chance but Birmingham are in a stronger position to tempt him and his club.

To be honest Cole might be a good shout, he's doing nothing at WestHam and Tevez is more likley to make a come back, he needs games otherwise he's useless to the club, so a loan deal for Cole would make sense (he also often plays as a target man that would work well for us).

Yes just the kind of striker we need and I do think he is more likely to be allowed to leave on loan than Harewood. We need the backing of MM on this one though as Cole's wages are likely to be pretty high.
Mort Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 We need the backing of MM on this one though as Cole's wages are likely to be pretty high. But you could say that for any half decent players who we might want to bring in... the MM deal isnt just important for the club, IMHO it's essential for our future - without it i dont see the club actually competing in the transfur market, let alone in the championship for years

Ric Flair Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Marcelo Salas, he'd be crazy in this league.

amitoo Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Cole could be a really good signing for us on loan, we cant afford to buy as of yet but things can change once MM is confirmed. We really need to get some big strong player espically up front, players that can trouble defenders. i cant think of any names. kamal izzet is a good player we can get for our midfield he can follow in his brothers footsteps. Even paul anderson on the liverpool reserve list he is a amazing winger i saw him play a few times for liverpool reserves.
Ric Flair Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 He'd be crazy to come to this league more like. Naaah. He's back in Chile earning a pittance. Mandaric can pay him £10,000 a match and £5,000 a goal. Salas would be here like a shot, the darling of the midlands.

I know, thing with Chile is, thats were he's from , so he might not want to uproot himself halfway round the world to run around at Turf Moor on a Tuesday night. Besides isn't he playing for his home town club now?
amitoo Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Kevin Lisbie, Bryan hughes they can be good signings a long with franny jeffers and paul gallagher!
potter3 Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Marcelo Salas, he'd be crazy in this league. I've only heard of him when I signed him on FM06, he was a great target man on that
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 I've only heard of him when I signed him on FM06, he was a great target man on that He lit up France 98, and had a absloutley insane goal scoreing record at Lazio.
potter3 Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 He lit up France 98, and had a absloutley insane goal scoreing record at Lazio. Back in 1998 I was only intersested in the players playing for England, or Leicester. I'd probably never heard of Lazio
amitoo Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Salas use to be amazing in the 1st editions of pro evo back then it was called ISS (internation superstar soccer) he could score from anywhere, just incase anyone wanted to know
potter3 Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 Just looked, 77 goals in 79 appeartences for Lazio, thats phenominal for that amount of goals per game over a sustained period of time
Chrysalis Posted 20 December 2006 Posted 20 December 2006 west ham still got that striker injured they got from norwich?

Besides isn't he playing for his home town club now? Rumour has it, he was born in Blaby many years ago but was adopted by a poor family in Chile. He's gone on record to say he'd like to come and have a gander around where he was born. With 280 goals in about 350 games for both club and country, I think he'd be the perfect foil for the devastating Elvis Hammond.
