Manwell Pablo Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 I wouldn't call him a top player. He has a reasonable scoring rate in a league that isn't terribly better than ours. Plus he is 28 and has only really just managed to hold down a position in the first team. Players like this are always desperate to ply their trade in England. Joey didn't seem to desperate to stay here. Prehaps top player was a bit over the top I think you grately underestimating the Dutch Erdevesie in saying that it's not much better than our league. The top six or seven teams (AZ obviously included) would probabley win this division. PSV are in the last Sixteen of the Champions league. AZ Aren't short of a bob or two and Van Gaal is a smart man and Kovermans wouldn't be leaving for the kind of money Madaric has in his back pocket, your looking three million at least and probabley more, Then there is Koevermans himself, is he so desperate to play in England that he would come here? I dont think so, he's playing European football and if AZ keep up their good form he could be playing Champions League football next season, perform on that stage or just keep performing at Erdversie level and some Prem team will probabley come in for him. Trying to pick up players playing in Top German, French and Dutch league will be very difficult. With the exception of Knopper of course, part deal for De Vries get it done. EDIT: Reasnoable scoring rate??? he scores more than once every other game mate! He was the boy at Sparta Rotterdam!
MBK Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Wages and the fact that we are 18th in the championship would stop this happening. Danny Koevermans (AZ Alkmaar) Stoke got good players on loan being last in the league
dandannieldanok Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Rowan Vine (Luton) Daniel Sturridge (Manchester City)
potter3 Posted 15 December 2006 Posted 15 December 2006 Rowan Vine (Luton)Daniel Sturridge (Manchester City) Is he actually good or just good on football manager??
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 Is he actually good or just good on football manager?? TBH I think most of his suggestions have come straight from FM.

Manwell Pablo Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 kallstrom 4 citeh we can get him wel cheap 500k from Leon.....
potter3 Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 What about Lebohang Moekeona (sp?) from Orlando Pirates, only £250K
who-izzet Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 Don't know much about foreign guys but MK Dons boss Martin Allen followed by Izale McLeod & left back Dean Lewington could be good signings.
Mort Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 With the deal looking like being killed off by the shareholders... should we just delete this thread? Its going to be very depressing, just like the new "sporting blue"
dandannieldanok Posted 16 December 2006 Posted 16 December 2006 TBH I think most of his suggestions have come straight from FM. I dont have it, I've seen Daniel Sturridge and he has a good finish on him coupled with lots of pace.
Leicfox Posted 17 December 2006 Posted 17 December 2006 I think we'll try and sign Geoff Horsfield on loan.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 I think we'll try and sign Geoff Horsfield on loan. Hope not, he's failed at Leeds already this season. His height maybe useful but with money we can do better.
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 I dont have it, I've seen Daniel Sturridge and he has a good finish on him coupled with lots of pace. ok Been to watch Danny Kovermans recently as well?
Leonisco Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 I dont have it, I've seen Daniel Sturridge and he has a good finish on him coupled with lots of pace. Would be an excellent signing, that guy's got a big future. Wonder if Man City'd let us have Ishmael Miller for a bit as well.
dandannieldanok Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 ok Been to watch Danny Kovermans recently as well? On television.
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 On television. What on Channel five? on a bit late aint it?
dandannieldanok Posted 18 December 2006 Posted 18 December 2006 What on Channel five? on a bit late aint it? Yeh some times , also through the internet too.
Ric Flair Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 I would like to see us sign an ageing foreigner with ridiculous ability that will startle everyone when we sign them. Either Ariel Ortega or Marcelo Salas would be my choices. Both if possible. Both are back playing in their home countries, wasted out there.
Mort Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 Ok, despite still being petrified at the prospect that we'll somhow manage to kibosh the take-over, I'd suggest the following... Dunn (Brum) - Initally on loan, with a view to a one year contract for next season. He gives us experiance and leadership that (and i never thought I'd have said this) we'll really be lacking next season without Tiatto, while at the same time he's a creative force in the middle of the park and can score goals. Chaplow (West Brom) - a simple purchase, shouldnt cost too much and gives us a creative force in the middle of the park with the greater part of his carrer ahead of him. Good investment, who will come good in a short space of time IMHO. Hoult (West Brom) - On Loan, gives us an excellent choice at the back as Logan is too young to hold the place down week in week out and needs some consistency (ditto Henderson who as third choice would be pretty decent IMHO, but not as a regular GK). Izzet (Colchester) - Purchase from Colchester, gives us the force on the right wing we've been desperatley missing IMHO, use Sylla as fall back (and cancel Low's contract!). Toderov (Pompey) - He's going back to Pompey in Jan, and they seem fine for strikers, whats more MM rates him and we need an experiaced striker up front, I would probably prefer Bent or Harewood, but i think Toderov is a likley pick and one that if possible we should leap at. ...thats pretty much it to be honest, get rid of Low, Johnson and Douglas sharpish, farm Hughes out on loan (Williams can provide cover for Chaplow, Dunn, Izzet and Hughes will be surplus to requirements) with a view to getting him a premanent move elsewhere. Finally look into sorting out the managment with Dowie or Pardew and a total rejig of the staff (outside of the Academy). Fin.
Daggers Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 Millions to spend? Entertainment required? We have to get this tosser

Hoult wouldn't come to us to be a second or third choice keeper. Toderov is not the sort of player we should be looking at. he's average.
The People's Hero Posted 19 December 2006 Posted 19 December 2006 Danny Pugh. Dunno if he's any good but what a funny name!
