lcfc_jme Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 Just before I vacate FoxesTalk until some point tomorrow, I will inform people that England were 126-5.. However McGrath has just taken the wicket of WelshyJones as I type this, so we are 126-6, needing 277 to avoid the follow on
Dr The Singh Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 England are screwed, i'm surprised the aussies decided to bat again: current scorecards: Australia 1st Innings 602 for 9 (155.0 overs) Australia 2nd Innings 181 for 1 (40.0 overs) England 1st Innings 157 all out (61.1 overs)
lcfc_jme Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 England are screwed, i'm surprised the aussies decided to bat again: current scorecards: Australia 1st Innings 602 for 9 (155.0 overs) Australia 2nd Innings 181 for 1 (40.0 overs) England 1st Innings 157 all out (61.1 overs) So we're 626 behind, the Aussies have 9 wickets in hand, and we may well have to survive 2 days at the crease?? I'd say roll on the 2nd test!!! The Aussies will go on an all out assault at the start of day 4 methinks, 9 wickets in hand and over 600 runs ahead?? They might as well play 20/20 cricket until lunch tomorrow, and then send us in to bat. We could well be looking at 800 to win this match!!!!!!!!!!!
Finnegan Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 So, right. I don't know that much about cricket, but by his own standards this is a bad record, right? A Flintoff c A C Gilchrist b B Lee 0 3 0 0
Daggers Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 So, right. I don't know that much about cricket, but by his own standards this is a bad record, right? Shouldn't you be attending to a holiday home somewhere?
Finnegan Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 Want to come home to a roaring fire? Buy a cottage in Wales.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 November 2006 Posted 25 November 2006 Want to come home to a roaring fire? Buy a cottage in Wales. All Blacks played well today didn't they.
Finnegan Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 They did, class above. It's a pattern they seem to repeat every World Cup, really. Peak before and be sussed out come the big day. I'd almost like to see them win it, really, this squad deserves it.
lcfc_jme Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Australia declare on 202-1 with Justin Langer passing 3 figures. They lead by 647. England need 648 to win ... Anyone going to hazard a guess as to how much we'll lose by??
Deathside Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Anyone going to hazard a guess as to how much we'll lose by?? A day
Finnegan Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Allegedly, the umpires have already been given the last day off.
lcfc_jme Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 If we lose more than 2 wickets before lunch then we might as well not even bother coming out of the dressing room afterwards, as we'd be more than screwed. I'm going for a loss of 400 runs
Finnegan Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Boycott, start the wave, Boycott, Boycott start the wave. \o/ \o/
Brummie-FOX Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 So how many runs do we need now? I didn't bother reading page 10 so i can count..
Brummie-FOX Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 135395239057832890573, give or take a few. Are you sure?
lcfc_jme Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 Finnegan, I'm sure you meant "Bumble, start the dance, Bumble Bumble start the dance "
Maybes Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 England are 29-1 in pursuit of 648 Another wicket gone.
lcfc_jme Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 So we're 36-2, needing 648, and the batsman who performed the best for us in the previous innings (Bell) is already gone? Forfeit the test. Now.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 43-2 at lunch. Looks like we stand a chance of taking it to the final day at least. Another stupid mistake by Strauss
dhermon Posted 26 November 2006 Posted 26 November 2006 it will indeed goto the last day with australia needing only 5 more wickets to win the match
