I wouldn't play Gemmill or Makin, I'd swap them with Gudjonsson and Canero respectivley.

Still not a bad side though.

Come on Leicester!

disallowed 2 QPR goals and give us a pen i like this ref at the mo

The ref was a disgrace - I couldn't see why QPR's second goal was disallowed and the number of free-kicks he gave to QPR needlessly was ridiculous. Pathetic performance by the ref today.

Played well in the first 10 mins then the rest of the game was crap.

I missed the first 10 mins due to work but was listening to the radio commentary which sounded positive. But the rest of the game we played really badly and were lucky to come out with the win. There were 2 disallowed goals for them and I couldn't see anything wrong with the second goal. We looked completely out of sorts again and defensively it was chaos again - we sat back and invited pressure for the whole of the second half and we looked hopeless up front.

Hopefully De Vries will add some much needed strength and aerial ability up front - because Scowy had yet another poor performance in which he failed to win many headers and didn't hold the ball up for midfielders.

We needed to win today and although it sounds like we were lucky it's still a much needed 3 points.

At least he gives us a bit of hope going for the new year.

We are unbeatable this year. :)

Get Slowcroft out, he is a joke. Terrible again by him today. I thought Steart and Taylor were our best players. But we didnt play well at all, and were really lucky to get any points. Its fair to say the best side lost.

Awful performance. Fair enough we won, but thats thanks to the ref not the performance. Penalty was dubious. Two dissallowed QPR goals, and in the second half they must have had 90% of the possession, since we were determained to go ultra defensive for the whole half. That isn't entertainment. Took the piss in the last few minutes when we threw Heath on, which gave us a back 6.

Well played Stewart, who was the only one trying to get forward in an ultra defensive team. And Taylor for some great saves in both halves. Scowcroft is a disaster.

I find it clever to put on a half-fit Tiatto... his booking enables him to serve his suspension while injured anyhow! hehehe...

If we can slog out a few wins, confidence within the team and amongst the supporters will grow and with the two new signings things will start to get better especially with two players who are used to playing under the guidance of CL.

Certainly seemed part of the plan, his very first tackle, such that it was could easily have resulted in a booking.

Horrible game again, but 3 points was nice. QPR played the most disgusting style of play i've ever seen, far worse than we ever did or do. I think that's possibly why we had to dig in and battle like we did, I certainly felt that it would of been dangerous to try and pass our way out of the shit yesterday. There's still alot of work that needs to be done on this team and now that the team has bedded in there are signs that Levein is a defensive minded manager at times, which isn't a problem if we can be more clinical going forward when we do attack.

I didn't like the way that Dublin, Keown and Dabizas played the ball out of defence, I like the idea of that but they should pass to Williams and Nalis and it should get going from there. Our central defenders distribution is disgusting at times and it was a pathetic give away of the ball, I was impressed to see Taylor playing the ball short but there's alot of work to be done on that. The midfield need to move more and get in to space, Williams gave us a better dimension and even though he'll never chase and battle constantly for the ball, he is good going forward and he's a quality passer of the ball.

Jordan Stewart was class yesterday, wing-back is his position. With Maybury signing I would be encouraged to play wingbacks permanently now as it means we can play Williams, Nalis and either Dawson or that scrote Gudjonsson who was shocking yesterday. At the back we can play Dublin, Keown and Stearman preferably which looks solid to me.

I wouldn't mind playing a 4-4-2, as long as we inject more pace and energy in to the side. If we draft in Maybury at right back, Stearman in the centre with Keown, and keep Stewart at left back, then that represents a pacey backline. However, we don't really have an out and out winger apart from Gillespie. Tiatto can play left wing, but I would much prefer him in the centre alongside Williams.

For now though, we must stick with a 3-5-2. We had a problem with distribution from the back, so the obvious answer is to play Stearman, who uses the ball very well. Once all our players are fit, then I can see our strongest side being the following: (I've included Maybury and De Vries, assuming Levein sees them as first team regulars)

---------------------Taylor

----Stearman------Keown------Dublin

Maybury----------------------------Stewart

-------------Dawson-------Tiatto

--------------------Williams

-------------De Vries-----Connolly

Dawson, Tiatto and Williams would be a class midfield trio. Dawson and Tiatto are very good defensively, while being able to use the ball well. They both have plenty of energy and no shortage of skill. Williams would be given license to roam forward, and we could see from the first 20 minutes against QPR that he did that to good effect. :)

I thought the first 15 minutes we were good, but after that we were poor.

Dion was distributing good at times in that first 15 minutes, but all three defenders were pretty poor with distribution the majority of the time.

They weren't even good hoofs!!

As for Scowcroft, in the last 10 minutes he actually started to win a few flick-ons, but apart from that...

Unfortunately everytime I slagged him off, I got a telling off from my girlfriend, who's met him quite a few times when her dad used to work for David Sheepshanks at Ipswich.

----Stearman------Keown------Dublin

Maybury----------------------------Stewart

-------------Dawson-------Tiatto

--------------------Williams

-------------De Vries-----Connolly
