FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Looks decent enough, but is more young(ish), quick(ish), short strikers from League 1 what we really need? I suspect not. We need a biggish bloke, someone about 6' - 6' 3", not too wide, who's a bit quick and has a good finish on them. Preferably with a fair bit of experience of the championship, too. Late 20's or summat. The entire league are on the lookout for that kind of striker!!!!!!

dandannieldanok Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Exactly, Im struggling for winger we can afford who'd definatley do a better job than Hughes on our right. Jamal Campbell-Ryce Kyel Reid I will think of more, both would be better than Hughes.
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Jamal Campbell-Ryce Kyel Reid I will think of more, both would be better than Hughes. Was Impressed with Kyle Reid on the left against us this season but he went deadly quiet when switched to the right. Jamal Campbell-Ryce gets bullied even more so than Hughes and goes missing for games on end.
STUHILL Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 I've actually seen Hawley play a few times at Carlisle because cousin lives and supports them. He was their best player and stood out for them when i saw him play but he is small and i'm not sure it's what we need right now. However, he did look quick and held the ball up well. 500k though, not sure he's worth the risk.
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Glen Little OR John Oster Playing first team for Reading OR complete Liabilty, both expensive. Not easy is it?
dandannieldanok Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Playing first team for Reading OR complete Liabilty, both expensive. Not easy is it? There both capable of doing a good job in this league, well be than 'go-slow' Hughes, plus both cannot be playing at the same time. Loan deal surely would be possible.
escape2victory Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Trevor Sinclair ? Richard Hughes ? Ogjen Koroman ? Chris Eagles ? Shaun Newton ? Suppose you could argue that a few of these would be unrealistic

dandannieldanok Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Trevor Sinclair ? Richard Hughes ? Ogjen Koroman ? Chris Eagles ? Shaun Newton ? Suppose you could argue that a few of these would be unrealistic Would love to see Chris Eagles here, very good at this level. As for Sinclair, Hughes and Newton they are slightly to old for my liking anyway and I've never heard of Koroman. Howsa bout Frédéric Mendy from Bastia, can play in midfield or up front.

OH I KNOW, Escape to victory has mispelt his first name so when you put it through Google/Soccerbase nothing came up! Try Ognijen Koroman, plays for Portsmouth at the moment he's on loan, very Exotic! On that note I'm going home.

Yeah but you have to realise who ever we sign is going to have some sort of risk attached to it because if there was a perfect right mid available he wouldn't be coming to Leicester !

And i didn't even try looking for Koroman, I'll take his word that he could be a potential target. How could we get this Koroman anyway if he is on loan already.

I wouldn't want him going on what i've seen of him. Whenever i've seen him play he looks poor, he played in the world cup for Serbia and had an absolute mare in one of the games, against Holland i think. I hope it's the same guy anyway.

We can't, I Just found it strange that you'd know a average french player playing at a average French team and not Koroman, espically seeing as he plays in this country and was at the world cup. I saw Luis Fabiano while I was on holiday, he'd be alright

Yes I suppose it is quite strange, I don't know any other French players just the ones at Bastia cos' I seen 'em. What about that Karadas who was at Pompey. Dunno his first name or whether he is still there but I believe he is alright. Striker not a winger though.

It wasn' that long ago that they signed on a permenant deal.
Molson Canadian Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 From Skysports http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...p;channel=& Hawley chase hots up Skysports.com understands Carlisle ace Karl Hawley could be on the move before the close of the transfer window with several championship sides chasing his signature. Carlisle are thought to be reluctantly ready to do business for top scorer Hawley this month. Hawley's current contract expires in the summer and the striker has informed them he will not be signing the new deal on offer at Brunton Park. Carlisle are now contemplating cashing in on the talented forward rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season. The news has alerted a number of championship clubs who could make a move for the free-scoring forward. Ipswich, Norwich and Leicester are all thought to be admirers of Hawley and are weighing up bids for the 24-year-old.
The People's Hero Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Yes but Glen Little is playing first team , and John Oster makes Stan Collymore look like mother Terrasa That's who he looks like! I've been trying to place that for ages....
MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Yes but Glen Little plays first team, and John Oster makes Stan Collymore look like Mother Theresa. Now you're good, Pablo Honey.
