Geo V Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 you can still make loan deals until the old transfer deadline True mate. I was merely pointing out that even without MM we should be able to get a player or two in on loan with the money saved/gained from the selling of Low and COG and release of Cilla Black. Ive said for a while now that its lunacy to be talking deals with MMs cash until he takes over and his name is on a plaque something at the Walkers! His transfer targets (MM) mean sweet FA in my opinion and RK has been quite realistic in having this attitude of just getting on with it and even has come out moaning that he could have bought this and would have liked that player. He seems to be the only one at Leicester City who is being realistic as the MM deal may not go through for one reason or another. Anyway, back to reality, ordinarily Parlour wouldnt be such a big pull for a club in 2007. I think most Prem clubs would have no use for him. The stumbling block may be that he wants as much money as possible due to his missus stinging him during there divorce
Strokes Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 you can still make loan deals until the old transfer deadline Are you sure? I thought it was a week after january.
Jimmy Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Are you sure? I thought it was a week after january. no its the old deadline for "emergency loans"
Strokes Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 no its the old deadline for "emergency loans" What defines an emergency loan?
Jimmy Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 What defines an emergency loan? its any loan made outside a transfer window, its just a technical term really, when soke took all those players on loan they were "emergency" loans
Jon the Hat Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 its any loan made outside a transfer window, its just a technical term really, when soke took all those players on loan they were "emergency" loans I think we could get away with it on the basis of "OH MY GOD look how bad our team is!! If that isn't an emergency then what is???"
Geo V Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 If I have to take a baseball bat to Johnsons legs in a plea for a new midfielder, I am happy to oblige. The things I`ll do for Leicester
Jimmy Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 If I have to take a baseball bat to Johnsons legs in a plea for a new midfielder, I am happy to oblige. The things I`ll do for Leicester not much point if we cant even afford the pittance it would of took to bring joey back
Mad Dog Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 I'd be amazed if we're not frantically trying to convince Ray Parlour to join us at this very moment. Thoughts?
Solihullfox Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Based on his performances for the club so far I think Leicester could convince anyone that we needed an emergency loan if Johnson HAD to be played in the side
Toby or not Toby Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 would be good sigining with his experience. if we could agree wages then he'd be worth the gamble. surely he can't be any worse than andy johnson can he?
Brummie-FOX Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Mandaric may be interested. As I said he liked to add experience, so if he likes the player and can encourage him to lower his wages, it may happen.

Janx Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 IF Mr Parlour wasnt so desperate for cash after one of the worst divorce settlement decisions in history AND didnt see us as a final pay cheque, I would love to see him here, HOWEVER I would think there would be a better deal in Qatar or Dubai or USA or well ... anywhere but here!
MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Chicago Fire failed in signing Zidane... So I guess they're after another former high-profile player. There goes Parlour.

Would be annoyed if Leicester even thought about bringing him here. Slightly better version of Andy Johnson which isn't hard to achieve. Wages would be too high anyway.
lildave3 Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Parlour will go Watford IMO. and would be a good signing for them, some vital experience is needed in their midfield.
dandannieldanok Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Parlour will go Watford IMO. Very possible, he is training with Arsenal to maintain fitness and Watford is pretty close so.........
who-izzet Posted 25 January 2007 Posted 25 January 2007 Ray Parlour has been released. Do you think he will stay in the Premier or drop a league?
