Janx Posted 23 January 2007 Posted 23 January 2007 He was good just before he left us, once he had knocked his ALLEGED Jameson bingeing and horses on the head... Pricey wages I think, but would be decent right side addition.

I want some new players turning up for City and I am thankful that all these ex-players we are being linked to arent turning up. F**k Gillespie, Gudjohnsen, Lennon or which ever other player has walked out on us for one reason or another. They had there time. BTW one person I wouldnt mind coming back is Gary McAllister but as manager if RK left/was sacked. I saw an interview with Ally McCoist who was saying that Gary Mac would be great as Scotland manager and confirmed after his personally problems that Gary is back and ready to take up a managers job. Lets hope McLeish gets the Scotland job and we get Gary Mac. He commands respect, played the game the right way and is one of the few pundits who talks sense on TV.

Well the fact that people talk the talk about the game or whether they played the game the right way has absolutely no bearing on their managerial abilities and GM's record at Cov was pretty crap so I see no justification for his consideration other than sentimentality and that will get us no where.

I fully expect him to go back to Coventry though. And i can see him doing well aswell.

I think his documented problems hindered his progress as it couldnt have been easy going back to a sick wife. The fact that she was fighting the illness for 6 years tells you something about the struggle, especially as her illness obviously deteriorated in latter times. "Young" managers do seem to be en vogue these days. Experience seems to count for nothing. Lambert at Wycombe has been there 5 mins and has been linked to championship clubs already and you hear about these talented young managers like Cotterill, Bruce, Mowbray, etc etc all the time. The old boys are on such a scrapheap that one has just turned up at kettering!!
brookfox Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Milan Mandaric wants to make Carlisle striker Karl Hawley his first signing for Leicester with a £500,000 swoop. (Daily Star) From the BBC rumours page. Personally, I've never heard of him.... is he some sort of foreign investor?!

Also Kelly has his eyes on James McEveley although Blackburn may reject any more for the 22 year old. MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 "Rob is currently waiting on the takeover to to complete before start getting down his shopping list." Bloody hell, tell me something I don't know. "If Milan Mndaric deal falls through or isn't completed by the end of January then he will inquire about Wolves." Or bugger off and never come back again. "Rob Kelly is ready to make a move for Francis Jeffers from his old club Blacburn Rovers." Never heard of that club before. "...leaving will be distin to Newcastle on a bossman, mills to Hull and jordan to Leicester." What's a Bossman? And which Jordan will be moving to Leicester? The river?

Master Fox Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Well we've certainly had some interesting ones today. I think Bold Fox should be made an ambassador of the club

MC Prussian Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Well we've certainly had some interesting ones today. I think Bold Fox should be made an ambassador of the club... ... or replace Jon Barber on the Match Commentary.

And which Jordan will be moving to Leicester? The river? It's the one with the big boobies. It's to help get player to accpet lower wages. ...... and to replace Josh Low on the right wing.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 What's a Bossman? The Big Bossman? Used to wear sunglasses inside and carry a black baton type thing! Well Hard!!! ask Ric Flair, those two must have tangled at somepoint?
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 Link to Hawley story - £500k target apparently
amitoo Posted 24 January 2007 Posted 24 January 2007 I thought Milan said he wanted to bring in some experience players, Karl Hawley isn't experienced in the Championship is he? i think the best option is to get some loans from permiership reserve sides, our main ambition and most realistic target is not to push up the league but to push away from the relegation zone...so in the best thing to do is save that money and spend in the summer its too much of a risk at the moment buying a player who has to move up a league to help a team fight for suvival.

You've got a point. I agree with the idea of just consolidating this season. Get a bit of cohesion in the team, and then make some more perminant signings in the summer. however, if this lad has potential, then make we should get him. We've already missed out on a few players that would have been good for us. I think we should be looking at bringing in both youth and experience. It is a strange rumour tho. To spend that sort of money on a player that is totally unproven at this level is a real risk. I do hear that he does come very highly rated tho.
