breadandcheese Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 So what does everyone think will happen? At one point, I thought he'd be the one driving the car that hit him in the first episode. He'd fall in love with Annie and then realise he had to knock himself down in 2006 to go back to 1973. I now realise that is a ****ing stupid idea and now actually have no idea at all.
potter3 Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 I think its Gene that knocked him over, that why the temporary guy from Hyde said something about getting Gene and saving Sam
Head Honcho Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Bit of an anti-climax if you ask me but some top tunes played tonight. Atomic Rooster and Tom waits
Cobbo Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Bit of an anti-climax if you ask me but some top tunes played tonight.Atomic Rooster and Tom waits Anti climax? I thought it was triffic! The multiple orgasm of television, a pure delight Will miss it. But the dvd will be bought.
Head Honcho Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Anti climax?I thought it was triffic! The multiple orgasm of television, a pure delight Will miss it. But the dvd will be bought. I may have been a bit premature .....................but tell me was he dreaming about the future all along?
stez Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 very disappointed with the very end (should've ended with the 'leap of faith'), the rest of the episode was ok (although not enough gene for my liking)
Flynny Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Anti climax?I thought it was triffic! The multiple orgasm of television, a pure delight Will miss it. But the dvd will be bought. Agreed. I keep having to stop myself analysing it though, else it makes no sense. I thought it was going to end just with him chucking himself off that building, which would have been alrightish, but it was great.

stez Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 I may have been a bit premature .....................but tell me was he dreaming about the future all along? surely not!? who the hell can dream up a mk2 C reg vauxhall cavalier?!
Mort Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 The ending was alright, but frankly i expected more… Overall I think it could have gotten away with being more ambiguous… don’t think we needed the whole return back to the present only to commit suicide arc, also why didn’t we find out if what happened to his girlfriend from 2006/07 (didn’t she get kidnapped in the first episode???)… overall I think until about a third of the way in it worked, but after that I think it started to fall apart a bit… still miles better than most of the crap on TV, and I’ll be getting the DVD
Wezleylowski Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 quality ending, well thought out i would have never thought of that. i love gene hes a legend. when he got shot and sam tried to help him up and he said "Dont touch me, Im not a fairy!" was pure genius
Louise Posted 10 April 2007 Author Posted 10 April 2007 Thought it was a good ending, best episode of the second series by far imo. Re the girlfriend: I suppose if we're supposed to assume that the things he was hearing from now were actually happening then his girlfriend must have been saved (in his coma he is the one who saves her, but here it must have been otherwise) - in the first episode - and must have given up on him like she said she would in one of the recent episodes, which is why she wasn't there when he woke up. Then again the 'waking up' could all have been part of his coma and he never woke up at all. Or he is totally mad
Leicfox Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Then again the 'waking up' could all have been part of his coma and he never woke up at all. Thats my opinion on it too.
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 That means you'll be watching a humdinger of a 0-0 or 1-0 to Roma tonight then. Ric Flairs preditction skills strike again, and will be taken into account of Friday morning
potter3 Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Just watched it, and it really confuses you if you think about it So I just accepted it, it was a good ending, but you can't beat the first series "Get off! I'm not a fairy."

Flynny Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 someone said to me today that they considered the ending as him having gone to his heaven, which made the ending make more sense for me That's kind of what I thought, but it still doesn't really work.
C-man Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Gene Hunt is an absolute Legend. ''Surrender, you're surrounded by armed bastards''
potter3 Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Gene Hunt is an absolute Legend.''Surrender, you're surrounded by armed bastards'' he comes out with some great phrases
Flynny Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Best was: "The dealers are so scared we're more likely to get Helen Keller to talk. The Paki in a coma's about as lively as Liberace's dick when he's looking at a naked woman. All in all, this investigation's going at the speed of a spastic in a magnet factory."
MC Prussian Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Believe it or not - there's a German channel called Kabel 1 airing LoM. I haven't seen much of the series, because it's on late all the time. Besides, they're showing a cut version with around 8 minutes missing per episode. I'll probably buy the UK version to avoid that loss of quality. I'd like to congratulate the BBC upon having rediscovered quality TV.
potter3 Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Sam Tyler: Large whiskey please. Nelson: [With heavy Jamaican accent] Drink ain't gonna fix things. What am I saying? I run a pub. Of course it will fix things! Sam Tyler: I'm lost, Nelson. I'm really lost. Nelson: [suddenly switching to a Mancunian accent] You ain't lost, pal. You are where you are, and you have to make the best of it. It's all you can do. [sam looks surprised] Nelson: Keep it to yourself, eh? Folks just seem happier with the other Nelson. Just looking through some quotes, is Kelly Nelson in disguise
