lcfc_jme Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Whilst it was snowing in Leicester earlier this afternoon, I saw a Royal Air Force Bomb Disposal Unit pull up at the old Burger King near St Georges Retail Park!
Cobbo Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Well I got to Peterborough from Leicester via Notts and Grantham on the train really smoothly today
cisono Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Drove to Loughborough, then Nottingham, then back to Leicester. Little traffic, it was great
cisono Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Whilst it was snowing in Leicester earlier this afternoon, I saw a Royal Air Force Bomb Disposal Unit pull up at the old Burger King near St Georges Retail Park! Something to do with the current postal scare?
lcfc_jme Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Something to do with the current postal scare? First impressions told me so. But I haven't heard anything about it since so I don't know what to think. Lights on it were flashing and it wasn't exactly obeying the speed limit!
cisono Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 First impressions told me so. But I haven't heard anything about it since so I don't know what to think. Lights on it were flashing and it wasn't exactly obeying the speed limit! Glad nothing went off. A bit too close to home
Brainy Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Snowing very heavy again in Worcester.. this wasn't forecast was it? I think i'll go and make a snowman later
Head Honcho Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Just taken me 45 minutes to do a journey that would normally take 5 minutes I'm sure the whole city has decided to knock off at the same time, therefore Newport is officially gridlocked.
Head Honcho Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 ...dammit ~ I've just phoned the Head of IT and found out we are not Brum...but Solihull. And school is Argh! on The South Wales contingency plan for schools in adverse weather means that every teacher who cannot get to their school must go to their nearest school. Which begs the question wtf were 90% of kid's off school yesterday
Brainy Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I feel sorry for the kids that were actually at school yesterday!
Daggers Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I was in work today - but 1200 out of 1450 kids and half the staff didn't make it in. Tossers.
The People's Hero Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Yesterday was the quickest I've ever got to work (apart from the time I accidentally came in a 5am - don't ask). No one was on the roads. Everyone just took the time off.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Yesterday was the quickest I've ever got to work (apart from the time I accidentally came in a 5am - don't ask). No one was on the roads. Everyone just took the time off. Ironic, yesterday was the quickest I'd got to the pub for the same reason.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 It's just started snowing again here! Not settling though grounds to wet!
James. Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Yesterday was the quickest I've ever got to work (apart from the time I accidentally came in a 5am - don't ask). No one was on the roads. Everyone just took the time off. haha. i did something similar once. i managed to go a whole weekend without realising the clocks had gone back - god knows what i was doing. turned up for work an hour early.
The People's Hero Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I'd been drunk the night before and obviously had been fiddling with my alarm. I thought nothing of it being freezing and dark because it was like late October or something. The roads were ridiculously quiet though. Then I got to work... no one was here. I'm such a willy puller.
Head Honcho Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 haha. i did something similar once. i managed to go a whole weekend without realising the clocks had gone back - god knows what i was doing. turned up for work an hour early. Cocaine probably
Solihullfox Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Been snowing quite heavily here for the last hour and a half....some is settling but not too bad.
Brainy Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Awful here, been snowing since 10am, started to settle over an hour ago and now there's bad traffic outside.
James. Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Cocaine probably nice connection with snow though. intentional of course!
Brainy Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Some views from my garden Just measured 9 inches outside
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Thats what it's like here now and I live in the sticks and it's still falling at a almight pace, no grit, it carrys much longer I'll be snowed in.
Daggers Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Just measured 9 inches outside *pulls puerile face and makes sniggering noises*
Joe. Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 It's all wet here, rained at lunchtime, so it's not going to settle although it's coming down in good amounts. We'll see how it goes...
