Lineker's Left Foot Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 As we're from the City that is famous for its Indian Curries what does everybody like? I still can't stand hot curries and boy I've tried - Madras is too hot for me !! My fave is a Lamb Bhuna with Keema Naan (mince meated) - PHENOMENAL and loads of Poppadoms when out with the lads at The Moonrise in Hinckley. What's everybody else's favourite and are you a hot or mild curry lover; or just hate the stuff with a passion?

When i'm out I normally just have a Chicken Tikka/Pasandra, e.t.c.
Webbo Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 if i go out for a ruby i usually have prawn rogan josh madras. also I've just got into Thai green curry.
James. Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 Hot hot hot. Curry has it's rightful place in my top three meals (the other two being a Sunday Roast and Fish and Chips). Normally I go for Vindaloo. And yes I do like the taste, I'm not just trying to prove how hard my cock tastebuds are!! Chilli tikka massala is also very good. Not authentic by a long way but mmm they taste gooood.

Guest Gist Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 I can't really handle hot food, so I stay away from curries unless they're mild.

Nationwider Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 I like a bit of heat, but you need to be able to taste a curry, rather than be left with a Ring Of Fire the following morning. For me, chicken balti (chunky, with lots of chilli), and a veg curry or bombay potato. I'm not a big fan of rice/naan as it rather gets in the way of the big double act - nothing should spoil the curry and beer partnership. So just a couple of chapatis for me on the side.
Rincewind Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 If you go to the Leicester beer festival they do curries there, but the usual bloke won't be able to do them this year as he has died. The one who has taken over has promised bigger portions for the same money as there were complaints previous years. I have got myself an Iceland take-away Madras today so will bung it in my microwave or oven soon. I eat most curries but need plenty of rice (or beer) to cool it down

andyh1884 Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 Aloo Gosht is a really nice dish I only tried recently & have ordered it religiously ever since. ceylon or pathia are also on the hit-list for me. I like them reasonably hot, but too much & eating is a chore.
Head Honcho Posted 1 March 2007 Posted 1 March 2007 These come highly recommended! http://home-garden.search.ebay.co.uk/CURRY...R8QQsacatZ14308 I got 2 for the price of 1 last time I bought one.

I also cant get myself to order a Lamb Bhoona after Peter Kay spoilt it during one of his adverts . My fav is a boring Chicken Tikka Massala and that Nan bread thats stuffed with meat whatever its called . Now Im hungry FFS!!
