Chairman of the Bored Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Most our fans are bald headed morons or drug taking teenage hooligan wannabes.About 40% are normal people. Don't you just love senseless generalisations? Do drugs make you go bald? That could be the root (ha, ha) of our problems, then.
Lovejoy Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 I haven't a regular part of the ground or seat that I go to as I usually get tickets on match day and just take it from there but I must admit that the amount of morons who don't know anything about football in all parts of the ground that we have is shockingly high. If its not ripping apart one of our own (that should always be saved for forums like this or the pub if you have to), its them wasting energy on some other moan which stops them from singing. What pi$$es me off even more is on the occasion that we do manage a goal, those very same feckwits manage to find a voice and sing. Its embarrassing to be sitting amongst these people at times but its a problem that they need to sort out and not us. Dunno about anyone else but I am amazed at the change in personel in the kop this year. My season ticket is a few rows from the top of E1 and the area has changed from passinate(ish) fans of last year to old farts this year. I couldn't get to the game last night but against Stoke no one sung (apart from me ) and I got some looks as if to say shut the fcuk up you loud, irritating tvvat. One bloke even spent half the 2nd half moaning about my hair, not even the fooking football!

Lovejoy Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 So what's wrong with your hair? It's a bit spiky This old bloke just moans about everything, he should be in the west stand.
Webbo Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 We were exiled onto the lower left side of the south stand. Ross likes to get involved (I am much more restrained ) and was joining in with all the singing and on the row in front was a mother and her two nippers who were maybe 10 and should have been in bed. There was a couple of lads who looked younger than that along a bit from me, who's language was a little bit fruity to say the least.
Ashley Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Andy King isnt ready to play in our first team yet, Simple as.
Thracian Posted 3 October 2007 Author Posted 3 October 2007 Andy King isnt ready to play in our first team yet, Simple as. As I asked elsewhere, on what basis is that. We weren't outstanding in that department last night but he looked the best of the three we had.
Ultra Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Andy King isnt ready to play in our first team yet, Simple as. And Clemence/Chambers/Stearman/Kenton are?
lcfc_jme Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 And Clemence/Chambers/Stearman/Kenton are? I don't see the problem with Kenton, and Chambers I'd happily settle for as opposed to Stearman. And give Clemence this international break to regain his fitness and he'll be more than ready to cement his place back in our first XI.
Ultra Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Neither Kenton or Chambers are midfield players. And Clemence didn't do himself any favours yesterday. If he wasn't fit (and he clearly wasn't) he should have said so.
Bert Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Neither Kenton or Chambers are midfield players. And Clemence didn't do himself any favours yesterday. If he wasn't fit (and he clearly wasn't) he should have said so. So one bad game makes him a bad player?

If he wasn't fit (and he clearly wasn't) he should have said so. Ok - Clemence says he isn't fit - who plays in midfield? Chambers, that's who. Chambers who isn't a midfield player. Wesolowski clearly wasn't fit today either - why is there no slating him? And besides, Kenton hasn't looked too bad in midfield in recent games, and was probably our best player today (yes, not saying much I know), so why the problem with him?

Bert Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 Ok - Clemence says he isn't fit - who plays in midfield? Chambers, that's who. And besides, Kenton hasn't looked too bad in midfield in recent games, and was probably our best player today (yes, not saying much I know), so why the problem with him? Kenton was our best player Tuesday night as well. The only one who chased everything down and played for the shirt.

So that's why he was taken off? Although he could have easily been moved to right-back, as that post has effectively been vacant in recent weeks..
Bert Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 So that's why he was taken off? Although he could have easily been moved to right-back, as that post has effectively been vacant in recent weeks.. That's true, seeing as we haven't been playing a formation that involves a right back.
lcfc_jme Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 So that's why he was taken off? Although he could have easily been moved to right-back, as that post has effectively been vacant in recent weeks.. Kenton doesn't offer much going forward being a natural defender, and he was brought off for a proper central midfielder who offers more going forward at 1-0 down. I don't see how that means he played terribly, if I'm honest with you. If you'd rather one of the strikers have been taken off to accomodate Wesolowski at 1-0 down, then fair play, but in the circumstances of the game, the right choice was made. Had it been 1-0 to us, or even 1-1, I don't think Kenton would have been the man replaced.. The right-back situation is another issue altogether. I've made my (disgusted) feelings clear about that in another thread.
Thracian Posted 11 November 2007 Author Posted 11 November 2007 I'm going to let TPH explain what a fooking marvellous side we were without Sheehan, King and Porter.... I don't know if King had a broken leg. But if not I cannot think of one reason why a specialist midfield player like King should make way for a striker like Fryatt or even another striker like Hume. But I am sure someone will explain - preferably the manager before he disappears into oblivion.
Thracian Posted 11 November 2007 Author Posted 11 November 2007 Andy King isnt ready to play in our first team yet, Simple as. So please explain why a team that was getting taken apart suddenly stabilised at Preston once King came on.
Anish Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 It did baffle me that King wasn't even in the squad yesterday given our lack of choices in midfield (especially with Wesolowski and Clemence returning from injury so not being match sharp). I'd much rather see proper midfielders being played in midfield than defenders (Chambers, Kenton etc) or strikers (Hume, Fryatt) when they clearly aren't doing the job. For too long this season we've played players out of position and it's disgusting when we've got players who actually play in those positions idly sitting in the stands.
BigGibbo Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 And Clemence/Chambers/Stearman/Kenton are? Clemence Yes, Chambers Yes in his rightful position right back, Stearman not on current form, Kenton ive never thought good enough for our first team but a capable squad player.

King might be a good player in a few years but is not the answer at the moment. Porter mind you is another example of leicester fans finding a scapegoat. I think he has something about him, If we want to get out of this division there are alot of players who won't help us.
Koke Posted 11 November 2007 Posted 11 November 2007 To accomodate Porter, we need to revert back to 4-4-2. And when/if we do that, then only 2 of Weso, Clemence and King can be chosen. Given that Weso and Clemence are way too similar I would like to see one of them getting sacrificed for King. At least for a while and see if things change. Same with the defence, 2 of N'Gotty, McAuley and Kisnorbo should play, not all 3. I think this 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 whichever way you see this is ****ing us over big time. Especially at home.

Unfortunately it will be next season before Porter plays again but otherwise you make good points. However I don't intend to try to open closed minds on the question of King nor to detail reasons for his being such a valuable player - it was hard enough to persuade anyone he was better than Jarrett or Hughes. In fact I find it increasingly difficult to understand any of what passes for thinking among the people who direct our club's foootball. Despite the passage of almost four years, and the spending of what I consider to be some shamelessly wasted money, I still see problems which should have been addressed all that time ago and which many of us assumed would be quickly addressed anyway as a matter of course. But each month our managerial merry-go-round stops for people to pick up their salaries and each month you wonder what if anything has been achieved. The only person I would say has been successful in that time is Steve Beaglehole and his helpers at the Academy. Oh yes and Megson managed to pick our strongest team and show that he at least knew what he was doing even if presentation was so ugly. Aart from the one day he seemed to inexplicably sell his soul with the first team at Plymouth Beaglehole has been the only man whose approach has reflected the best traditions of this club and the only man whose teams have consistently given some pleasure to those watching on the touchline. And until we have a man with his sort of philosophy in charge of the first team it is a waste of time talking about anyone within the club or without, who might make our football more exciting.

Unfortunately it won't be in an upwards direction..
