Just try to imagine yourself getting to the off licence to buy a packet of 20 with just minutes remaining before it closes. I do that but substitute Kentucky for Offy; family bucket, three zingers and eight packs of chips for the fags. If I need to be somewhere quick it works everytime.

The real test is whether I'll be able to get through Leicester v Derby and Leyton Orient v Northampton this weekend without any alcoholic sustenance. If I can manage that, there's nothing I can't do.

I've decided to go for the "see what happens" approach. I sense collapse as I jog onto the pitch to take my place in goal, too much physical exersion right there.
