Same here, no surprise Italy didn't get it.

Maybe the crowd trouble in Italy put them off

And all the corruption in the Italian game, maybe... :dunno:

Share the wealth!

That will be a decent decision as its about time some of these poorer Nations got some major events to they can improve there facilities and make some cash along the way. Cheap holidays here we come lol.

Italy don't deserve it with what's happened over there. It's no surprise at all they didn't get it.

Agree completely, what with the match fixing and the violence lately, surely it would be the worst possible place to have it.

The English fans will have a right laugh over there with the cheap beer -- Assuming we make it to 2012

I'm surprised 2 such large countries have teamed together. I would have thought they would go in seperately and plan to build new stadia like Portugal did for Euro 2004.

Its the trendy thing to do now :S

As far as possibly going to its concerned, it's a shame its not in Italy. Closer, better (?) stadiums, and Italy's a nice place too.

Difficult to disagree with them not deserving it, though.

Indeed, there will be trouble in Poland at some point.

I don't see how they Calciopoli scandel has any bearing on Italys abilty to host a European Championship, crowd trouble I agree would of played a big part in FIFA decision but not I don't see how Calciopoli has any relavence.

And as I've said before, technically it wasn't match fixing!!

I used to love betting on some Italian games. A mate of mine who used to compile the odds for a comapny called Canbet would send me a text when he got all the info together and place the odds on there site and I would then go to another company and place the bet. Strangely, the draw was always the odds on favourite outcome to the game but some dopey other firms werent upto speed with situation and would give "normal" odds on a draw which was about 2/1. One game I can remember was about 1/6 ON to be a draw and ended that way. Dodgy feckers!!

Good for the hosting countries, not good for travelling fans. Or vocal fans. Or betting fans. Or non-white fans. I myself have no desire to go to this now. I'd have gone if it was closer to home though. :(
