Following Leicester sport at the moment is so grim. I don't like rugby so can't even take much pleasure in their resurgence.

At least we have had success beyond our wildest dreams with City. County it's like a nightmare every year. Not even competative.

What a bizarre pitch at Trent Bridge. Ridiculously  green, as if they'd like the game done and dusted in two days

A smaller county would be docked points for this pitch. Obviously Notts won't be.

Well done to Evans for carrying his bat.

Legendary stuff.

He's even motored along at a strike rate high enough to have given him a nosebleed compared to his usual tortoise pace.

Fair play to him.

Agree on the earlier comments about Patel.

Patel has been messed about though. The pre-season plan was for him to bat 3, which is where he started, then he was moved to opener, where his form fell off a cliff and now he's back at 3. He surely needed a chance to get form back in the seconds before now.

That's the impact of our much lauded bowling coach.

Has a county side ever bowled more no balls in a season? I'd seriously doubt it.

I only caught a brief spell of play yesterday. He looked to at least have serious pace?

Saw Geoff Capes once playing cricket in a charity match, he was a copper, defo better than this!

My word, I see Finan has a couple wickets but he's going at over 7 an over! Makes Ben Mike's economy look miserly!

10 no balls now! You can't bowl someone with those figures, even if he wickets from them chasing quick runs

Finan is awful, how can a set up get away with such poor recruitment for so long? Like who's being held accountable here, clearly no one

Id love to be a fly on the wall in the meeting where Nico sells the ideas of these shocking bowlers to the board.

100% agree.  Nico slips some ket in Sean Jarvis’s green tea and hey presto- Finan 2 year deal with Thurston and Nathan Buck to come. Genius

The no balls are shocking and there needs to be consequences. Pay, fines, whatever. You can’t blame the pitch for that. And Finan may just have suggested what the Leicestershire board/coaching staff saw in him in his post day 2 interview - he’s never been coached……

That's not changing anytime soon with our lot 🤣

Joking aside that's fair enough but why do a 2 year deal, if he turns out to be any good one of the big boys will take him regardless

In other slightly related news, Durham have been docked another 16 points because one of their players bat’s was an inch too big. I think they hate Durham even more than us. Yorkshire meanwhile…

How do you get someone to accidently make a bat an inch too big curious to find out what bat manufacturer was used. The new bowler saying he has never been coached is an interesting one and nice to see the clubs website being very positive saying we need 479 more to win in 192 overs at 2.49 an over optimism or what
