Think they'll try for an overseas quick who can commit to a longer stint than Mulder. We desperately need firepower in that department.

We be good if Green and Wood could step up the 1st team, take it Hull could be playing for England.

Could be a nice little earner for the club. A fair few legends appearing!

Should earn a few quid for hosting the matches gate receipts  probably  going to the organisers  although the games at Northampton were poorly attended  last year around 400 but the India match should sell a good few tickets. Not too many stars in the England side apart from KP normally players like Phil Mustard Usman Aftzal Stuart Meaker Chris Schofield Darren Maddy  Samitt Patel and that famous English man  and former fox Kevin O'Brien

How much are tickets?

£15 for the single gamedays and £25 for the double header on 29th with India-WI and Pakistan-Aus. They do a bundle as well. Pretty reasonable tbf

Doubt it, we're skint.

Shit is contagious all over the sports clubs in Leicester

I quite liked Welch. One that maybe should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Although I suppose we can't afford to carry injury prone players.

The 11 counties without hundred teams are reported to be getting £20-27 million pounds each from the sale of the franchises. This can be spent clearing debts and investing in infrastructure. I wonder how we will spend ours?

Probably on a training ground with no real coaching. 👌

Clearing debts and focusing on top coaches and youth teams hopefully.

We need to be sustainable using our own talent and good mentorship coupled with experienced pros where possible.

Also get out there and do everything possible in the local community to get them down there

I can't make my mind up on the cash windfall.

Is it the greatest con job ever by the ECB?..., who I have called blind since the formation of the hundred. Have they shafted hundreds of millions for a brand that nobody watches, has no real estate or assets and not even any players?

Or, will the ECB allow the investors to aggressively expand the format throughout the summer, and turn it to T20?

Not sure on duration of the tournament, but it seems very unlikely it doesn't become a T20 competition

The investors will do everything they can to make their money back and more.

Agree. Still begs the question, who will actively follow it?

I realise it's set up for new supporters (what looks like on telly middle class British Asian doctors and their kids) . But it can't rely on them alone. That demographic is too fickle and not established enough to have an emotional investment

The existing cricket supporters are probs broken up into three tranches;

The England fans. Nowadays Like a cross of middle class darts type event day and race day boozers.

The older posher pensioners, with their scorecards and Panama hats.

The T20 boozy lads crowd.

....none of them will really follow the hundred.

It won't be 'The Hundred' if they make it a T20 competition

True. But Notts fans - of the three fans groups I described - will still follow Notts in the T20, and not the trent rockets. Same for Glamorgan and Hants. Probably for Lancs and Yorks too.

The only two I can see as viable are the two London franchises

Other countries have standard T20 competitions along with franchise ones, reckon changing it to T20 would actually bring in cricket fans who didn't fancy The Hundred. Also let's be honest the quality of the squads in The Hundred aren't exactly great, with investors you might see some bigger names coming to play in it
