From that squad

Patel

Budinger

Masood

Handscomb

Hill

Cox

Trevaskis

Mike

Scriven

Wood

Green

Bat deep. Young guns in too.

Great squad that is, tbf

Can't for the life of me work out why we signed up Masood for this though. Even him for  the t20 was pushing it, tho more rational since Handscomb took a break

Maybe just a rest. He's playing every game, every format.

Pity, as he's great for us

Need him on gun form for September. I’d be resting Holland too.

He's back in the squad for tomorrow's game, along with other returnees including Trevaskis and Cox:

"Handscomb captains the Foxes in 50-over cricket for the first time, with Pakistan Test skipper Shan Masood featuring as Leicestershire’s second overseas star.

Ben Mike, Ben Cox, Alex Green and Sam Wood all come back into the matchday squad, with Liam Trevaskis and Chris Wright also aiming to break into the XI.

The Foxes will miss Rehan Ahmed, Josh Hull and Louis Kimber, who are all away at The Hundred.

Leicestershire Foxes: Budinger, Cox+, A Green, Handscomb*, Hill, Holland, Masood, Mike, Patel, Scriven, Trevaskis, Wood, Wright."

Strong team compared to some of the others given outings today. Hopefully we can qualify early and give a couple of the young batters (Dunk and Madan) some first team experience.

We really must start as favourites for the competition esp with the likes of Essex and Glamorgan resting OS players

It's great (in terms of recognition) that Hull and Ahmed have done well enough for themselves that they're away at the Hundred.

Hope to see Wood and Green getting decent gametime and the academy conveyor belt of talent continuing. With Swindells retiring and Hill aging it would be nice to see an academy batter breaking in too. Looking at second XI stats nobody is banging the door down this season though Dunk has had a couple 70+ scores.

Yeah both signings that perhaps weren't the most exciting at the time but they're absolute key players for the run in now.

Honestly don’t think we’re in the promotion picture without Holland. He’ll be a baller in div.1 too with his Darren Stevens +10mph tribute.

6 over 30’s in the team isn’t a great look haha

It's a tricky one on the one hand of course you want to see your side winning matches but on the other it does seem slightly against the spirit  of the competition  when we are playing 2 High class OS players against sides like Surrey today who are  playing esp in there bowling  pretty much an academy side

How many players do Surrey have in the hundred though?

Big step up to second XL and then first XL cricket from under-18s and they probably need another season of second XL with the odd first XL game to develop. Rehan, Hull and Green are outstanding talents for their age, as is someone like Jacob Bethell. Even Joe Root didn't make his first class debut until he was 19. What's encouraging is that we have these guys coming through now, whereas 5-6 years ago we had a big squad of journeymen pros winning all the second XL games, but not adding anything to the club and there was no pathway for the under-18s.

Yeah agreed, Green feels like he's the other talent who is ready to play more first team games this season. Then like you say would hope to see Dunk or Madan starting to really establish themselves at second XI level next season and make a case with runs for an opportunity this time next year.

My rough reckoning, about 13-14, though a couple of them on specific white ball or Blast contracts

the commentator on You Tube has lust said 15.

It's all reletive though, Surret's annual wage bill is about 20 times Leicestershire's

I’m not really bothered about Surrey, they’re a money bag team who stack the squad. I do want to be seeing some young players get a chance though.

Is today's game on YouTube?

All of them are. You just have to go to the home sides YouTube page 👍🏻

Is there not a better camera angle that doesn't have the view of the stumps/wicket covered by the umpire lol

Can't see any lbw shouts!

The Derbyshire coverage was worse for that! Literally couldn’t see a thing lol

Possibly Dom Sibley and Matthew Fisher and they could easily have signed 2 OS players to give them a fighting chance of being competitive
