Nico must have signed 2 or 3 duds for every gem he found...

Griffiths, Welch, Barnes, Davis, Sakande, Walker, Dearden, Lilley, Rhodes, Steel, Finan...

1 Griffiths good signing for the most part barely missed a game for 3 years before fading.Took 40 wickets first season.

2 Welsh Had some good knocks in white ball cricket doing well for Zimbabwe

3 Barnes was ok always gave 100% and a useful batsman

4 Davis Again not the worse done ok for us and took a wonder catch in the one day final

5 Sakande Done well for England under 19 and ok for Sussex who wanted to keep him so can see why we signed him but agree wasn't great.

6 Walker highly rated when signed Glamorgan didn't want to lose him again not the worse as as a squad player.Thomas extended his contract.

7 Dearden Signed as a kid had talent but didn't quite deliver.

8 Lilley for all the stick it you look at the averages he was a useful T20 player for the most part.Mid 20s average great strike rate and until Patel overtook him last game the club's leading 6 hitter in T20s.

9 Rhodes agree baffling signing esp on 3 year contract.

10 Steel felt he deserved more chances.

11 Finan was worth a punt genuinely quick bowler done well in minor Counties and got a contract at Northants after we let him go.

Not many I would call duds. The club had a very small budget at the time so the signings were very much the best we could get.Don't forget we reached the knock out stages in the T20 with those players the only time we have achieved that in 15 yeats and but for 2  fielding errors v Notts would have reached finals day.

Wow the bad news keeps coming. what a shocking season we are having off the pitch aswell. Patel leaving, cox on market, Kelly called up. No doubt rehen will be off aswell.

When you let your finances get that bad it is never going to end well. The Hundred money has saved them in the short term but is not a long term solution.

The long term problem is the location of the ground. Should have moved years ago to the Fosse Park Shopping Centre area, but I don't think there's the land now.

Whatever your arguments here, recruitment has improved significantly in the last few years, largely down to appointing CH as DOC. Nicko was being asked to do too much at the time.

Moving further out of town would have been no good for anyone. Agree location is a problem but you have to make the most of the population in the ground's immediate vicinity.

Derbyshire ran a big marketing campaign targeting the estates around their ground recently (bus posters, flyers through doors etc) and their Blast ticket sales were uo thos year. Grace Road almost needs to become a local social club for Aylestone/The Saff, with discount memberships for people living there.

Eskinazi and Hull back in tomorrow's Blast squad, Rehan A, Mike and Scriven make way

Mike and Scriven out of the squad but Wood still in it? Baffling.

I take your point, but from my perspective, I would say that getting 500 extra on the gate for a Blast makes not a lot of difference in the long run. What they need is to make the ground into a resource that makes money most of the year and the current location with limits on parking and access is problematic for that. For example, Durham have just finished building a hotel on their ground and you could build modern conference and hospitality facilities, if you had a better location. Beyond that, if the vision had been there, maybe a multi-sport venue may have been possible with shared facilities.

Very. Something isn’t right there at all, not sure why Scriven hasn’t had an opportunity in the T20 and Mike can score quick runs.

Some very strange decisions being made.

Im concerned the lack of games Scriven has had this season.

Even with the step up his bowling has looked well below its best this season, it could well be he's having to manage a hammy niggle or something similar.

Wonderful start once again..... At this pint might aswell just give the opposition the points and save on travel.

To be fair it’s an absolute road, but absolutely no confidence we could chase anything over 150. Ahmed bowling well again, almost like he should be playing for England

Who is this Tye ****? Bowling like Glenn McGrath.

50 for 0 off 3 overs, then 60-4 off 7. Pathetic. After that start, move the ball around and keep ahead of the rate. Another loss. And losing Patel and maybe Cox would be a disaster, two of the most reliable performers of recent years.

Recruitment has improved 100% agree but that's only because we have spent beyond our means.Thomas hasn't at to look at castaways he's had the luxury of being able to sign proven County players like Cox Green Davey Eskinazi Jonny T etc
