Went to the sponsor's lunch yesterday. Interesting Alfonso and Claude spoke about the personality of players and squad so much - seems quite Pearsonesque actually.

I noticed Ahmed batting at 3 during some franchise stuff in the Winter.

He's moved around all over the order for us but wonder if he's targeting a top order role now he's a bit older and worked on/knows his game a bit more.

Feel like this will be Budinger's breakout year

I've got high hopes for him too. Seems to have found a good balance between control and aggression at the top of the order & has looked very good so far.

Let's hope so, we've got no other batters apart from a few kids who aren't ready yet.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get the Rehan Ahmed love-in? Most overrated cricketer on the planet

He’s still young and learning, plus you have to have a bit more leniency for any leg spinner. He could have another 10 years development in him at least. Also the hype being on his brother now rather than on him might help him settle down a bit.

Not sure he’s an opening bat mind, especially alongside someone like Budinger. Holland didn’t really work in that position last season though. Anyone know how long Patel is out for?

He needs to get that first class hundred and then go big too. It’s all about self belief with that lad.

Out in the 80’s again. He has the ability but the head is not quite there.

Claude was saying he’s extremely extroverted which does match up to his playing style

Clearly has bucket loads of ability but so far for us has failed to make match winning contributions in either four day or more worryingly given his playing style t20 cricket.

Hopefully this season he turns that around.

So far he's scored 56, 32* and 81, pretty good opening so far, he has to sustain it obviously but he's made a great start to the season

Kimber is just a walking wicket, I know i say that often, perhaps I am being harsh but I just have no confidence in him.

We bat very deep with this line up. Mike 10, Scriv 11 is mad

Dispiriting for tiring opposition bowlers. Both Green and Van Beek have played some lovely shots.

It should be a big advantage for us this season. Tipped the game back in our favour in Cardiff and it's nudging us towards a big score here. We'll be hard to beat, just a question of whether we can take 20 wickets on batsman-friendly pitches.
