Play in one of 9 games today. Still 12 days until the season ends.

Superb from the ECB again.

Yep, a storm in the middle of September is definitely the ECB's fault. It was also ridiculously nice in early April.

Chris Wright announced his retirement this morning. Great guy and excellent professional. I'm sure he'd be a superb coach or do well in whatever he chooses to do next. :appl:

From what I’ve read it seems like he’s going into youth development.

I’d give Budinger a one year contract given he’s still youngish and there’s an excellent player in there. He just needs to learn to rein it in at times.

He’s now 26. And he does it all the time. I was saying to someone in this Kent match when he hit a fine six off a ball that was asking for it, that he’d do the same in an over or two and then nick the next ball and get out for around 23. Didn’t know he had plans to bring that forward and got out the very next ball that he could have left. He shows absolutely no signs of learning anything. Under no pressure in this match and still does it. I’d be happy if we signed someone else. I’ve lost patience and we need more resilient batters for Div 1. If no other decent options available I’d give him a one year contract but that’s it.

Sol Budinger.

Here for a good time not a long time lol

Reminds me of a description that I think Jonathan Agnew used to recount against himself, that he went from keen young shaver to wily old-timer without actually being good in between!

I have said it so many times but he will need replacing from next year. Maybe keep him for depth but he should not be our opening batter.

Just keep him for White ball

Im not sure who we have who could open but this would be the route I would go. I worry he might be found out in red ball by div 1 bowlers falling into their traps.

I don’t think it’s even a question about being found out by Division 1 bowlers setting traps. He gets himself out. They don’t need to set any traps.

Kimber likely to leave, which isn’t something I’m disappointed about.

Do we know this or just speculating? Again, good for T20. But just don't make him captain ffs!

It would also be interesting to find out if we're keeping Van beek for next year as I don't see where he'd fit in if Handscombe and Maharji are the 2 overseas for the County Championship. And who will the 2nd T20 overseas be? Unless Handscombe plays in that next year? Lots of questions.

Tattersal or Eskinazi you’d imagine, if that’s the way they’re gonna go.

Lovely century from Patel.

He’s got interest from other counties.

I do like Van Beek but I think he hasn’t had enough of an impact in the second half of the season to warrant being Division One quality.

So annoying whenever we get someone reaching a ton they never make it past 120. Great knock but come on!

Little stat but we’ve scored 13 hundreds in the championship this season, but only once has a player gone past 150 (Hill151). That’s something to work on I guess. Rishi could’ve really gone big on this

Does anyone know where/when the trophy would be presented if we win the division? If we win it this week will we get it at home after the current game or would we still have to wait until next week at Northampton?

It would be great if Kimber could smack a quick 50+ score, but the weather forecast for tomorrow looks horrid.

Apparently it’s going to be raining Kent wickets
