Turtles Head Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 What simple things give you great pleasure in life? Not talking the obvious, but little things which others take for granted but you yourself find great pleasure from. For me its got to be  - opening a new jar of coffee, the smell when you break the seal  - putting on brand new underwear - finding change in your gym bag, you didnt know you had - having a beer on a hot summer day

Trumpet Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Peeling the plastic off the top of milk used to be one of mine, but working on a coffee bar at work has really sucked the fun out of it...
Daggers Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Waking, realising I don't have to get up, snuggling down again to sleep or read a book. Can't beat it. Being in a tent when it's raining. Fresh summer mornings, early when there's a bite to the air but you know a scorcher is coming. Hearing my kids laughing because one of them has been funny. Putting on a CD, making a coffee and planning the day ~ knowing I don't have to work if I don't want to.

Koke Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 Lying in bed and listening to the heavy rain rolling down your window. Standing in the shower for ages after a game of football on a dirty rainy field. Feels so great to get in under the water afterwards.
Trumpet Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 oo oo ive got more, Dave was an inspiration! - Going to bed on a summers night and listening to the rain, or the smell of rain on a summers day - When i used to wake up on a Saturday thinking i had school or college and the feeling of relief when i remembered it was the weekend - getting absolutely drenched on an Autumn / Winter night and not caring because even if you jumped in a lake you couldnt get any wetter (Maybe colder)
Daggers Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 The smell of Autumn & kicking piles of leaves Climbing a tree Diving into water and staying under as long as possible Doing something nice for a stranger and them saying thank you ...I've got loads. Just because I don't suffer morons doesn't mean I don't appreciate life on a minute by minute basis. In fact, it's stuff like this that prevents me from going postal.

Beat me to it.
blue blood Posted 24 April 2007 Posted 24 April 2007 how do you know he was somalian if he was a stranger? easy - 95% of st matthews are somalis, and he was with his somali family. i think the thing that really gave it away was the fact he was walking out of a somali centre, i may be wrong tho that is slightly missing the point tho
