Simple things in life

What simple things give you great pleasure in life? Not talking the obvious, but little things which others take for granted but you yourself find great pleasure from.

For me its got to be

 - opening a new jar of coffee, the smell when you break the seal

 - putting on brand new underwear

- finding change in your gym bag, you didnt know you had

- having a beer on a hot summer day

:D

Peeling the plastic off the top of milk used to be one of mine, but working on a coffee bar at work has really sucked the fun out of it...

Waking, realising I don't have to get up, snuggling down again to sleep or read a book. Can't beat it.

Being in a tent when it's raining.

Fresh summer mornings, early when there's a bite to the air but you know a scorcher is coming.

Hearing my kids laughing because one of them has been funny.

Putting on a CD, making a coffee and planning the day ~ knowing I don't have to work if I don't want to. :D

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens

brown paper packages tied up with string. :D

Lying in bed and listening to the heavy rain rolling down your window.

Standing in the shower for ages after a game of football on a dirty rainy field. Feels so great to get in under the water afterwards.

oo oo ive got more, Dave was an inspiration!

- Going to bed on a summers night and listening to the rain, or the smell of rain on a summers day

- When i used to wake up on a Saturday thinking i had school or college and the feeling of relief when i remembered it was the weekend

- getting absolutely drenched on an Autumn / Winter night and not caring because even if you jumped in a lake you couldnt get any wetter (Maybe colder)

The smell of Autumn & kicking piles of leaves

Climbing a tree

Diving into water and staying under as long as possible

Doing something nice for a stranger and them saying thank you

...I've got loads. Just because I don't suffer morons doesn't mean I don't appreciate life on a minute by minute basis. In fact, it's stuff like this that prevents me from going postal.

When its sunny and all the women come back out with it. Niiice

Hearing a quality song that you've not heard in so long that you forgot it even existed

When my car squeezes through yet another m.o.t

what brought this on mate?

A crispy bacon butty made with half a fresh baguette.

Proper coffee

Muscle ache the next day, from heavy exercise

When someone smiles when they recognise you

Tidying a room & organising your stuff

Getting something you've saved up for

The sense of pride coming from doing something successfully for the first time

I will never appreciate the ache after exercise lol. Although the rewards from the exercise, without doubt

i think the best 1 for me is smiling at a stranger and getting a warm smile back.

i was walking through st matthews a few months ago, i lent a smile to this somali man, he returned the gesture with a really warm laugh :)

easy - 95% of st matthews are somalis, and he was with his somali family.

i think the thing that really gave it away was the fact he was walking out of a somali centre, i may be wrong tho

that is slightly missing the point tho

doing something unconditionally for anyone is really satisfying too.

Are you in a Master/Slave relationship?:dunno: :dunno:
