stez Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 sadly, the high pitched, world cup winner and southampton manager has died, aged 61, from a heart attack there's no link yet. after hearing him talk about prostrate cancer a few years ago, i decided he was a thoroughly nice and decent chap.

The 'baby' of the world cup winning squad. RIP
Suffolk_fox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Another '66 legend dies. 61 is no age to go, RIP
surrifox Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 a real tragedy- he was a real dynamo and will be forever recalled dancing around after the World Cup having run his socks off- No apologies for mentioning the Boys of '66 - a few more like him and we might even stand a chance of winning it again but I doubt it
Geo V Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 RIP We should always celebrate the winners of this country and he was one of them.
Phube Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 RIP One more '66 legend gone... And I never saw them play!
davieG Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 This is getting too close for comfort. RIP Bally, thanks for the memories and especially the 1966 World Cup.
Thracian Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 This is getting too close for comfort.RIP Bally, thanks for the memories and especially the 1966 World Cup. Likewise - life is seriously too short. But at least he experienced some of the best of it and was part of such a special day. RIP Bally. One of England's greats.
Stevosevic Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 The manner in which he went was traggic, he had spoken to his son soon after the game praising Scholes and Rooney, then he realised there was a fire in his garden, he had a heart attack trying to put it out. He was genuinely decent man. R.I.P
Matt Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Shocked! Heard it this morning couldn't beleive it! RIP. Shame we couldn't win the world cup once more during his lifetime!
The Reverend Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 Man, it was only at world cup 2006 that i remember the commentators talking to him just before Englands first game. So sad. Legend. RIP
Joe. Posted 25 April 2007 Posted 25 April 2007 I was shocked when I heard about it this morning. A great footballer who will be missed R.I.P
