More fool you for trusting Barber - he was coming out with one daft comment after the next.

The only purpose he serves is to announce City goals against a backdrop of fan noise...no other. :D

Well 3 people have posted in this thread, all of us went to the match and have rated Kisnorbo better than McAuley, make of that what you want.

yeh but for Weso we've got a 6, 7, 8* MOM, so perhaps we can take these ratings with a pich of salt

They keep getting better for Weso though. It would be interesting to setup a rater (impossible to do a poll for each player) for foxestalk.

Logan 7.5 (A second successive clean sheet away from home and one which officially kept us up is the stuff of dreams for a novice keeper. One important and brave save at a striiker's feet and otherwise just a competent job. Lost a full mark for his kicking though. Does he and our goalkeeping coach not know that it is as vital for him to retain possesion as every other player. The problem needs serious hard work).

Stearman 6.5 (What a mixture. Skinned alive on two or three occasions but showed all his old enthusiasm, was constantly involved and featured in some excellent pass and move football down the right flank towards the end. Has at last started looking for the floor ball again).

McAuley 8 (Another vital tackle and fairly commanding overall. Successive clean sheets can't be bad).

Kisnorbo 7 (No goals against but Barnsley should have scored from at least one of their free header's in the box. Should carry the word "distribution" on his kitbag to remind him of what he has to work on til he's sick of it).

Nils 7 (Solid, dependable and clearly as comfortable with Mattock helping as with Porter).

Newton 6.75 (Good and bad. Well involved, passed quite well and took part in a few nice moves. Should have scored when one against one with the goalkeeper, second half).

Wesolowski 8.25 (My man of the match once more. Constantly tried to get the ball down on the ground and play it simply to feet. Made everything easy for others and was as happy distributing the ball to either flank or simply to a colleague three yards away. It is no coincidence that his return to full fitness has coincided with better results ).

Hughes 7 (Benefitted again from Weso's presence. Just seems a happier and more positive player under the new management. But, had he really driven into the 6-yard box he'd have had a tap in from Mattock's low cross which flashed low across the goal and only needed a touch.)

Mattock 7.5 (Hard to fault him. Contributed to attack and defence and contested everything. Another youngster who finds passing to feet second nature and has helped to improve the flow of our team)

Hume 6.5 (Competitive but never looked dangerous in a striker sense).

Fryatt 6.5 (His persistence forced our goal and I did say in an earlier thread he would probably score the goal that keeps us up so I wasn't far wrong. But TPH should never complain about Hammond's offside's again. Fryatt must have set a new record for offsides on a single day for City. Just average rather than dangerous really.

Subs: Cadamarteri 7.75 (Looked impressive at times showing good ball skills, directness and an excellent eye for a pass. Fully fit he could be a good squad member).

Worthington 9 (Effectively completed his job successfully and was hard to fault today. Predictably stuck to the side which won at Preston (and why not?) with everyone in a natural position and a sensible balance. Kept everyone focused, didn't take unnecessary chances with his substitution and ensured we didn't fall back on defence except for a 15 minute spell after our goal. Thoroughly competent. Which is a start in the circumstances we found ourselves under Kelly).

Fans 9 (Should get a wage packet from city to share between them. They've made a whacking contribution these recent weeks).
