Thracian Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 I knew as soon as Thracian saw the title of the thread he'd be angry. :D
Raj Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Surprising thing to say for one who was not above taking the piss with homosexual innuendo...But, as far as I'm aware people take the piss out of everyone, including themselves, just as they always did. All the legislation, political correctness, social manipulating and threats of tough action, won't make the slightest bit of difference to whether it's done - only to whether the jokes and whispered or shouted. People tell jokes about wives, mothers-in-law, husbands, visits to doctors, pregnancy, homosexuals, bi-sexuals, lesbians, blacks, whites, asians, the English, the Irish, the Martians, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and anything else that is likely to draw a laugh. If people take themselves so seriously as to be bothered about it then it's a poor do. There are far more important things to put right in our world rather than worrying about a bit a mickey taking. Well said!!! This is not being anti-gay...its just 'having a laugh'...NOT insulting gays!...I LOVE GAYS!... my wife is a gay!!!

blue blood Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 sounds like festival director Corin Desborough has his back to the wall no pun intended on a more serious note surley the income/revenue generated for the businesses in the city by 10,000 visitors would offset the cost of organising. Shocking decision if you ask me.

It's still pretty short sighted... considering the 9million + they spent on pavement slabs from China!!!!!!!

I know it is... hence why I said it's short sighted on their part. Leicester council are a waste of space.

Unit Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 I'm behind them all the way. Sorry. I was reading that whilst drinking some coke, there's now coke all over my keyboard. fooking love it.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Did I say it was wrong? I'm merely pointing out LOTS of people on here would be quick to moan if these were racial jokes. People would be labeled racist quicker than you can say "Andy King". Personally I think everyone is fair game for a quick rimming no matter what colour/race/sexuality they are, my post was to point out the double standards of some. You're not fussy are you??
Leicfox Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Ultra (top) a-fox & chandler pictured at last years parade They've been coming on this forum with they're mothers for 20yrs and i bet they've never been so insulted in all they're lifes, Who dear, them dear, gay dear, no dear.
Flynny Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Imagine the uproar if people were taking the piss out of asians/blacks instead of gay people. Imagine the uproar if there was a Black Power march instead.

Babylon Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Imagine the uproar if there was a Black Power march instead. Hardly comparative.. but now you mention it I doubt there would be uproar.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Hardly comparative.. but now you mention it I doubt there would be uproar. Sikhs have a march every year, to celebrate the birth of the Khalsa (Pure Saint Warrior), and nobody moans at that, as far as I know!! The Leicester one was just a couple of weeks back!!

The Leicester one was just a couple of weeks back!! There shouldn't be a reason to moan. There are lots of gatherings for reasons like that. Pure Saint Warrior... wasn't he in WWE?
Daggers Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 Imagine the uproar if there was a Black Power march instead. You are being stupid. No one is motivated enough to demonstrate their support for an electricity & gas supplier by going on a march. Pft!

Master Fox Posted 2 May 2007 Posted 2 May 2007 I think we need to organise a march to get this march back on!! I cannot see any other resolution to this crisis.
