Chrysalis Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Added this poll as it seems people are putting personaility above techinical abilities of been a manager preffering people like pearce and coleman to managers who have actually won promotion like warnock and worthington. Please choose max 3 options only so whats most important rather then everythng.
Leonisco Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Has to be previous record. If he's got the others it's a bonus, but at the end of the day that's the only thing you can truly judge a manager's ability on.
Thracian Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Couldn't vote really. If I had to pick one quality it would be "Positive effectiveness".
STUHILL Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Record in transfer market will be essential with this job, as we have a massive rebuild and money to spend! Also, experience in this division is important, something CL greatly suffered from and actually underestimated the standard i think. Also, passion!!! We havn't had a truely passionate manager since O'Neil, if not for the team, then for the fans! We want our managers to get excited, get angry etc and bloody show it!!
Bert Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 If the manager has passion he'll pass it onto the players and that's when they start playing for you, as that's who they take inspiration from.
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 I cant pick one. Maybe if the Poll was advanced enough for me to split 100% between the options I would be able to answer because you need most of those to be a success!

Zingari Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 having a name like "mike newell" is one quality i look for
Daggers Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 A commitment to charity work and an interest in children.
davieG Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 This is like asking what your favourite ingredient for making a cookie biscuit, it's the sum of the parts that's important.
Master Fox Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Secret romps with the receptionist and club masseuse
Zingari Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 This is like asking what your favourite ingredient for making a cookie biscuit, it's the sum of the parts that's important. and the ability to be greater than the sum of the individual parts
davieG Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 and the ability to be greater than the sum of the individual parts Exactomundo!!!!!
dandannieldanok Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Basically someone with a good record wherever they have plied their trade. If a candidate has a good record then 9 times out of ten transfer experience e.t.c will be part of the package and come naturally.
Joe. Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Good record all over and experience in the transfer market for me. Apart from that I couldn't care less who they are...
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 This is like asking what your favourite ingredient for making a cookie biscuit, it's the sum of the parts that's important. Chocolate chip.
MC Prussian Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 He needs to be foreign, come with a tremendous sense for current fashion trends, be able to mumble some sentences in English, behave like a cock and have an impressive air about him.
Scow Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Youth - a track record of winning a U18's league is a must.
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 A world war 2 winners medal, a world cup medal and a Miss World crown accompanied with a sash.
The Stig Posted 18 May 2007 Posted 18 May 2007 The most important thing for me is the managers ability not to be either Craig Levien or Dennis Wise. I think passion has a huge part to pay as the players need to be motivated if things start to go wrong, Adams, Levien, Basset, Taylor Kelly couldn't do that.
