lookwhaticando Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 I think thats more blatent stupidity than raceism. I'm inclined to agree. If you look at the context (the whole dancing/hips bit) sounds like she made a seriously flawed attempt at being kinda cool. I hear people call each other "my nigger" all the time... and I'm sure I've witnessed such language in music videos featuring similar dancing styles by black girls. Methinks she was trying to be y'know like part of the in crowd. Saying things like what the kids of today do. Word. ----- Then, you look at the way the others responded... the whole discussion afterwards. I mean it's easy to say "oh, I didn't mean it" but nobody directly involved appeared to be offended by it (and if they were, they hid it well).

Especially in comparison to some of the things that happened in January on CBB and channel 4 turned a blind eye to. Differnce was that was actually malicious and this clearly wasn't. Annoying cow though so I'm not overly gutted about it, but I would feel pretty aggrieved in her shoes.

Agreed, but Channel 4 have got little option, and due to the circumstances with CBB, where the racism was very deliberate to go as far as using the word paki to describe Shilpa and playing rhyming games with the word paki to describe shilpa, compared to this case where the use of the word nigger was used possibly in jest and in a non malicious manner, not to say it was a just thing to do!!!
City Fan Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Emily didn't use the word maliciously, unlike what happened on CBB. But regardless of that she knew the rules and she knew that after what happened on CBB, BB would have to be extra careful. It's her own fault.
Stevosevic Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 It was a stupid thing to do by someone who claims to be clever.

I'm not saying she should of got away with it but I think kicking her out of the house in the middle of the night is a little over kill, especially when you consider what happened in January, as the Singh says there just trying to right their wrongs.

Did they chuck her out when everyone was asleep or was everybody still chatting at 3:30 in the morning?
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Did they chuck her out when everyone was asleep or was everybody still chatting at 3:30 in the morning? **** knows I'm not that into it
Daggers Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 When I was a nipper I had to crank one off to a mail-order catalogue. These days there's this swim & bedroom wear extravanza. Spectacular programming.
Craig Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Pathetic. That Charley has called herself a n*gger plenty of times already in the house. Emily and some other girls were all dancing or something like mates do, were they not? When she said that word jokingly. It's easy to forget where you are, and who's watching i guess. The images of Charley crying that have been shown are not because she's upset about what was said about her, she was upset that they'd evicted her mate. Channel 4 were looking for someone to do something like this so that they could show that they have a zero tolerance towards Racism. She shouldn't have said it, but it certainly wasn't said in an offensive manner.
Wils Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 That Charley is a complete tool anyway. Shes related to Kerion Richardson you know.
Blue Bob Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 I think thats more blatent stupidity than raceism.Jade Goodys "Shilpa Popdadom" was worse. I think Jades comment was just down to having a very limit vocabulary and being stupid. Emily claims she is really clever so doesnt have the excuse, I am also sure she would have seen the publicity of CBB and that should have warned her to be careful. I guess she thought she was just being a bit gangsta and trying to suck up to Charly.
breadandcheese Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Anyone that stupid deserves to be booted out the house. Any half intelligent person would know that the big brother producers would be overly sensitive to any racial issues this series. To go and use as racially charged a word as n*gger in the current climate is just plain stupid. I guess it's to be expected from the person who proclaimed they discovered Indie music. Having said that, the use of the word n*gger has rightly or wrongly become more colloquilised into everyday speak from the cr*p of "gangsta" music.

Daggers Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Anyone that stupid deserves to be booted out the house. If that's going to be a threshold then it's going to be one mother****ing empty house for ever more. Thick people watch it, thick people stand outside it, thick people vote and thick people go into it. ****'em all. I say - keep anyone in that looks good in underwear and just turn the sound off.
Matt Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Back on the racism train! This time I spose you could/can consider it rascist, unlike the farce of celebrity BB (No way on earth was that rasist...Bullying yes, Racism no way) Although even this time i'm still annoyed with the "Oh that's racist"...How come black people can say the word she said and no-one bats an eyelid? Another case of one rule for one person another for other people rolleyes.gif I know it may still offend people but Charly even said she was shocked but a) Doesn't class it as racist and b) Wasn't offended...It wouldn't surprise me if BB planted Emily in there on person to have this conversation, BB then look good for chucking her out straight away after the last farce. I know plenty of people who have been called "Wiggers" or "Wiggerboos" by black people, but no that ain't racist is it? Fukin PC, Do-Gooding barstards again There goes one fitty anyway
filbertway Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 It wasn't even that bad, can't beelive she got kicked out for that.
Stevosevic Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 She said it because she is clearly use to saying it regularly, which she admitted in the diary room before being chucked out. She was a stuck up cow anyway. Two blokes go in tonight

Stevosevic Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 You seem quite exceited about that All ive seen so far is bitching, they need to put a comical character in the house.
Number 6 Posted 9 June 2007 Posted 9 June 2007 have seen 2 episodes, feel v sorry for Ziggy, house full of women, poor bloke. And then they chuck in 2 oddballs, surprised he hasn't comitted suicide tbh
LCGJess Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Finally get some men in the house... But they had to be gay. Not even nice to look at. Eurgh.
