Deano Making Foxes Switch

Ex-Barnet boss Martin Allen will be making a move for Dean Sinclair after the tribunal hearing, according to reports.

The much disliked Allen (by Bees fans), who left Barnet in the play-offs of the Conference in 2004 to join North London rivals Brentford, may make the bid to sign energetic Deano from Barnet after a displaying an impressive performance in a black and amber shirt this season.

Sinclair was a regular in the team that finished mid-table in the league but scouts were drawn to his attention in Barnet's historic FA Cup run.

In the next few days, a tribunal will set a fee for Sinclair's new team to pay if they are to sign the youngster, with the sum believed to be around £80,000. Although this is more than most people expected, it is still massively undervalueing his ability and potential; a fee of £150,000 at its minimum, is a much more accurate reflection on him. But Barnet cannot expect any favours, with tribunals infamously known for their low valuations on players.

As well as Championship side Leicester, also interested in the attacking midfielder are fellow Championship sides QPR and Sheffield Wednesday, and also recently promoted Derby County, of the Premiership, as well as former club Norwich City.

Cant say this excites me.

I imagine wolves said the same when they signed Michael Kightly not saying he will turn out to be as good but it proves you can be a good player at any level!!

We got Elvis from a premiership team, Stephen Hughes from a champions league team and Rab from one of the biggest teams in Europe!! and they were all sh it!

Morning Leicester Fans,

Just some feedback from a Barnet fan - probably in a much better position to comment; although i'll withhold my views on Martin Allen!

Deano has undoubtably got great potential, he's young, skillful, with power and pace, and 3 hard years in League 2 and the Conference is a much better place to learn your trade than the Premiership reserves. Norwich fans were furious they let him go, so much so they are competing with you to bring him back.

He's very energetic, box to box, and can score some cracking goals (Deano Goal vs Crawley).

However, now his contract is up, you're getting him for a fraction of his value. I guess the intention is to let him develop through the season; i'd be surprised if he started in your first XI.

And the worse case scenario... You'll sell him for 500k in a year or two if it doesn't work out. Will be watching carefully!

Good luck for the year, hope Allen doesn't end up deserting you as well........!

At least Allen knows him pretty well and knows what he is capable of, I am sure he would only bring him here if he felt he could cut it at this level.

Thanks for the post, If he scores a few more like that for City he will soon be a fans favorite.

Just to add Allen never managed him - he's already done a runner to Brentford before we signed Deano.

Edit: And he provided Barnet Fans with at least one memorable highlight of a referee ruined trip to Old Trafford! The Bright Spot at Old Trafford!

Most city fans would sympathise with disgruntled barnet fans about the manager leaving, it happened to us with Brian Little and Mark McGhee, also we've been on the other side of the fence too, Taylor, Levein and Allen all leaving clubs to join us.

Its part and parcel of the modern game i think, a mans got a right to better himself!

Oh, we've got no problems with Allen leaving to better himself, fair play to him. He completely re-invigorated the squad and dragged us off our knees. He won't be out the news now, and you'll frequently be torn as to whether his media stunts are fantastic, or just embarrassing.

It's always been the timing - he called a press conference to state what a great happy family we all were at Barnet - a handful of games before the end of the season - next day he signed for Brentford, leaving us managerless for the Play-Offs.

He did the same at Brentford - leaving them for a team in a lower division, spent a fortune at MK Dongs, and failed to get them promoted as well. So, you have a man with passion, a way with fans, you will feel on a euphoric high with him as manager, but at the end of the day, his sum total of success is, erm nothing. De nada. No promotions in the Conference, League 2, or League 1. Is that a good enough record for a large, Championship team with the Premiership on their horizons?

If he gets us to the playoffs like he did the others then it's a damn site better than what we have had to suffer the last 4 years.

Dont get me wrong, i'm all for giving players a chance, unlike alot of people on this forum, just the fact he was released by Norwich as a kid doesnt fill me with confidence, but who knows.

Nottingham Forest released Shuan Wright-Phillips as a kid...

also what an awfully written article, 'Deano making foxes switch', 'Will be making a move...', 'May make a bid...'

Well aparently they want his back now lol Allen has unearthed some pretty reasnoable players from the lower leagues. Swindon Town released Theo Walcott when he was barley in his teens :dunno: it's just a case of waiting and seeing.

No, but then again, that is confernce football.

yeah i know but he still took on the shot where most of our old players who we had last season would have passed it back or sideways like johnson or jarret and the goal that he scored against manu he took advantage of the defenders mistake.
