Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 To be fair it seems HH's argument is mainly regarding Clemence having a better squad around him last time. Well, yes he did but as Manwell says they finished 2nd. If we finish 6th we'll be happy (or at least we should be!) A lot of Birmingham fans have cited Clemence's ability to motivate those around him, especially the younger players. This bodes well for the likes of Wesolowski, Porter, Gradel and King.
Head Honcho Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Que?Oh, if you think I was talking about you I wasn't. I was referring to the comments of Mack. So have your muppet back sunshine.
Head Honcho Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Maybe so but I don't see us getting top 2 anyway, three years was the goal and I'm very happy with base being laid down this summer so far, and Clemance is a very good player. Fvck me your spelling his name wrong now!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Fvck me your spelling his me wrong now! His what??
Lets Be having You Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 This is probably the single thing that pisses me off most about this forum. Not the idiots who can't spell or repeat threads or don't know their arse from their elbow but the moaning, ungrateful, pessimistic bastards that complain about the signings we've made so far. This is a quality signing. Player of the year and player's player of the year in a promotion winning side... How, how, how, how HOW can anyone complain? Mmm? Well? Shhhhhhhhhh. Spot On M8.
Blue Bob Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 I am a little unsure why some posts are negative towards Clemence, personally I think this is a great signing. What you should consider is that as a club we want to make progress and ideally promotion. Is the current group of players good enough for promotion - I dont know but I think we have made progress. Last season we had Hughes and Johnson this season we have Clemence and Kishishev surely that is progress, I think these two will make it very hard for other teams to play against us. Kaebi or Maybury, Newton or Low, Nielson or Douglas - there have been improvements all over the pitch. So for the doubters welcome in the new boys and wait until you have seen them play a few games before you say they are not up to it. I always look forward to the start of the season but this year I think we have got a chance to really compete with the top teams.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 How anyone can moan is out of their mind, this is the best signing the clubs made for years and years...
Simi Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Birmingham fan.. Great signing for Leicester, cracking player and a cracking bloke.Disappointed he`s gone but not surprised as we have been linked with quite a few midfielders this closed season.IMO he should still be at Brum and captain at that, should be Damien Johnson who should be shipped out the useless **** dry.pngI also hear DJ Campbell is in talks with Leicester, would make another good signing for them Also an MK Dons fan talking about new signings... Allen goes in and builds his squad. When he took over at MK he built his own team from scratch and eventually only 4 of the existing players ever got a game, the rest where shipped out. He falls out with players easily though
Mack Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Just out of interest can anyone explain why if he was so wonderful last season Birmingham City and Steve Bruce have sold him? Seems a bit odd if he was so vital to their team last year that they have offloaded him. I really hope he tears it up in midfield but honestly cant remember ever having seen him playing and thought "Golly, he is good." He's a good steady pro who will do a decent job in my opinion, but no team starlet.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 The thing about him being solid and unspectacular, if we'd been solid in central midfield for the past three years we wouldn't have finished in the bottom half every season. I have to add, it won't be the end of the world if we lose to Blackpool.
Manwell Pablo Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Fuks sake if we signed Ronaldo we'd get people on here claiming that he's no good because "if he was that good Milan wouldn't of let him go" We offered 7 figures they've taken it as they want to get a big name midfielder in.
Mack Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 To fund for new players, Bruce couldn't guarantee him first team football. So Bruce is basically telling the boy he thinks he needs to be replaced in the team for the Premier League to make them a better side? Thier player of the season gets booted out because he aint good enough for first team football. Something is not adding up there.

Mack Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 That's exactly what's happened. What's your conspiracy theory anyway? No theory I'm affraid just wanted to get is straight in my head. Best luck to the boy, I hope we are all signing his praises after the first few games. Failing that we could always make a pass on his missus

Failing that we could always make a pass on his missus Fair play. Clubs panic when they get into the Premiership (c/f £5m for Michael Chopra). Bruce just wants someone a bit younger with more pace. I doubt he'll end up with anyone that much better than Clemence.

I doubt he'll end up with anyone that much better than Clemence. Agreed. In fact, I think that he could have quite possibly done ok in the Prem. Bruce will never know though - until we get there I don't think it's the best decision he's made.
Leonisco Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 I know I've not exactly been keen on the guy in other threads, but what the hell, now we've actually got him I think he could be a key player next year. Although I do still think the money could've been spent on a more out-and-out creative attacking midfielder, but if he plays as well for us as he apparently did for Birmingham last season I'll be more than happy.
