Does Alan Sheehan Tell the Kop to F*ck off?

Don't blame the stewards for doing their job. Its bad enough having the big boys running around in suits giving them silly orders (such as chucking out anyone who stands up) and being a real pain in the arse. You have to understand if the stewards don't carry out what they have been told to do, they'll get a real bollocking from up above.

The stewards are being used as scape goats. The real criminals in this case are the Safety Managers or whatever they are called these days.

its the SAG again then

Surely everyone can appreciate the frustrating inconsistency in seeing hundreds stand in L1 while they single us out in the Kop. There were even a whole load of people stood in E2/E3 on Saturday with no action taken as far as I could work out. They're all responsible for sections and because no-one stood near us, we got singled out. It's a pathetic attitude towards loyal supporters in my opinion.

Completley, I even said to the bloke your only doing your job.

My only beef with them is if they've kicked me out with so much as a sit down motion without being told to do so by the club.

He got chucked out for standing up. That is all. No screaming or shouting or drawing attention to himself. No warning. Nothing.

I appreciate Mablo has let it go but it affects me more in the long-term because he was next to where me, KM and Holly have our season tickets and if they clamp down on standing there it will ruin my season.

Totally over the top reaction by the stewards. I know MP can be a contentious so-and-so :D but a few quiet words would probably have sufficed.

It really is time something was done about the standing issue in Parliament. Considering the seats in a football ground are made for half-starved pygmies I'd say it is essential to stand up sometimes.

Aren't you the back row as well. Its shocking

Yep.

There's no point me banging on about it on here I suppose, just needed to vent my frustration as I really cannot see how emailing Peter Jones is going to do any good at all.

One more point - and this is the most important actually - that it's hard to enjoy a football match when there's a bloke watching you for 90 minutes with the threat of chucking you out and getting rid of your season ticket. Even if we were sat down, it's hard not to stand up for long periods when you know there's no-one behind you and it's a game as exciting as the one on Saturday was, with lots of action down our end second half.

I admit that I stood at the back of E3 most of the game. The stewards here are a joke. (For the people that get warnings and standing)

manwell, as an aside - are they trying to ban you for anymore games?

It's a complete over reaction by them and with no warning to yourself cannot be upheld, surely?

As has been mentioned, the whole top of L1 stand and are never threatened with being thrown out. You are on the back row, no one's view will be ruined by you standing and if you had been asked to sit down, I'm sure you would have.

Don't let it lie.

This may be a stupid question but why didn't you buy a season ticket for L1?

I can't see his face mate so I wouldn't know that. ;)

Long story, cutting it short they wont be stopping me from going to the Walkers.

But techincally, I am of sorts banned at the moment until further notice, which I expect to arrive soon. I'm in no rush we don't have another home until September 15th I don't think.

I expect to get a letter telling me I have recieved a warning and can attend home games again blah blah is this is what the Stewards said I would get. If I get anything more then I will start to kick up a fuss because kicking me out, treating me like a criminal, getting a three man escort halfway round the ground to the dentention block and filling in a load of police forms for the terrible crime of not sitting down I can just about handle, but anything more is a joke.

I might be able to help with this, i had a season ticket in L1 since the season after we got relegated. Because it was a place where noise was being made and being stood. Over the years L1 has been very popular with trouble makers. Singing songs like '10 german bombers' Singing about someone killing coppers. And even the scenes down the concourse with people kicking the metal barrier with the away fans on the other side. L1 does have some people that go their just for singing and standing which i respect. But their is too many idiots their, i dont want to be kicked out or told off for their antics or have some lippy chav booing mark de vries. That is why i moved this season anyway.

Mainly because I've seen people stand at the back of the Kop with no trouble for years. Maybe they were clamping down on it and I just didn't realise, and many people may have moved their season tickets to L1 in order to stand this season. There are certainly less standing at the back of the Kop than in previous seasons. If it suits the club better to have one standing block which they don't bother to police then fair enough. Maybe I will have to move.

Well I would get a letter sent to the club expressing the above and asking why no warning was given etc etc because, in all fairness, the stewards have acted like arseholes and need bloody sorting.

I've seen people hit other fans after games and during etc and not get punished, you you got thrown out for the 'offence' of standing, when no one is behind you...it's bollocks.

That makes sense.

It seems to me that every club has to be seen to be pro-active in eliminating standing within the ground and as such go about evicting a certain amount of people every week. It's probably less hassle evicting from the kop then L1 so that's where they choose to target.

Yes well there are certaint circumstances surronding the issue which mean pursuing it probabley wouldn't be the best idea from my POV.

I'm considering it. We'll see what comes through the post.

At the moment I just want to look forward to the game tonight without having to worry about any of this shit.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere last week that the issue will be re-exmined in Parliament soon.

I can't see it getting anywhere to be honest. Could you imagine the outcry should god forbid we have another Hillsborough or Ibrox disaster?

I think they have the balance right as it is now and although I love going to some away games and standing you can't beat having a seat.

There wouldn't be if they manage it properley!

Problem is with modern stadia is that they're designed for seating. I think that the angle of the stands in the Walkers would make it dangerous to stand if they took away the seats.

Yes but wouldn't it be good to have the CHOICE?
