Dames Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 There's a myth he's still out with an ankle injury, I find that a little dubious. He's one of those rare players that never get's injured, Akinbiyi was the same. You pray for an injury that never comes. Thankfully we now have......... no we don't, we did have a manager who thought he was guff. I herd he did it crip walking dan.

Thankfully we now have......... no we don't, we did have a manager who thought he was guff. I've heard he had an itchy trigger finger, not sure that qualifies as an 'injury' or an 'ailment' as such - but he dissappeared with his 'cru' and we probably shan't see him for a few weeks.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 FT 3-3 Blimey. With that team we should be putting up a German womens' score.
City fan @ Aston Uni Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Kaebi gave away a penno with a scissor kick to someones face!!
Unabomber Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Was a great performance tonight especially from the new guys, Kaebi and Newton. The scoreline doesn't at all reflect the performance.
Milky Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 It was the most one sided draw you're ever likely to see. We were the superior side, and were rightly cruising at 3-0 up after about 50 mins. Then King gifted them a goal to give hope, they then quickly scored from a free kick, and in the last few mins were given a pen to level at 3-3. We should've won it by miles. Unfortunately without gifting them a first, we probably would have. Shame.

Milky Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 How did Djeziri and Ferreira do, if at all? Ferreira, Djeziri, Kaebi? I'll do a little player rating thing in a minute.
City fan @ Aston Uni Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Kaebi did a few good nutmegs against there number 6 don't you think?? Also what did you think of Adda? I thought he was quite good on the ball however needs to probably run about a bit more off it!! Goalscorers- Fryatt, Newton 2 - for those who didn't go!
Babylon Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Then King gifted them a goal Wash your mouth out.
Unabomber Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 They were all very good Djeziri liked to showboat abit to much and had Beaglehole going mad at him. Kaebi was the best player on the pitch, really attacking, it was like watching the videos on YouTube.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Newton scored twice?    Can't wait to see how Thracian rates him.
Unabomber Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Newton played in centre mid and he ran the show.
Milky Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 I think we were playing a diamond formation, the midfield was certainly very fluid GK Cisak 6 - Nothing to do really, apart from pick the ball out of the net three times LB Mattock 7.5 - Did really well tonight, drove forward with and without the ball, also hit the bar with a header at the back post. CB Stearman 6 - o.k, The pacey vale frontline did cause problems. CB Kenton 6 - same RB Kaebi 7.5 - Showed touches of class again, provided an attacking threat including two wonderful nutmegs on the left back to slip people through. Gave away a pen in the last few mins. Tried to clear with a bicycle kick, and the ref deemed it dangerous. DM King 7 - The first half he produced one of his best performances outside the academy. At the start of the second half however at 3-0 up he produced a beautiful through ball for Rogers to pull one back for Vale. It was a remarkable pass back to the defence considering he was facing them aswell. That started the comeback, and seemed to knock him back a bit. Loved his defensive midfield play in the first half though. CM Newton 9 - Superb display in centre midfield! Couldn't believe my eyes. Perhaps a new role for the old winger? Two excellent goals. For the first he passed to fryatt, then drove on forward to receive a fryatt through ball and tucked in away. For the second he found himself forward again and volleyed in from 15 yards. LCM Addi D 7 - The kind of player who loves to take a man on, beat him, then goes back to try and beat him again! He's clearly got ability and skill on the ball, lots of step overs etc.. Unfotunately, as so often with this kind of player, they're a bit selfish. He'll learn to get his head up and pass though. He's a poser, tried to cross into the box the one of those cross leg chip things. It went wrong and rightly took stick. He didn't really play in the left mid position, more central. Would like to see him again before saying whether he's ready for our left mid role. Stearman was continually putting him down though in his captaincy role, wouldn't get off his back. Probably trying to knock the selfishness out, but his tone didn't seem to help things. RCM Marco 7 - Has good touch and skill as you'd expect. Likes to take men on and get the cross in. Lacking a bit in pace though, which is a shame, but benfica fans on here have told us that already. All in all though i'd say he's a welcome addition. S Fryatt 6.5 - Scored a wonderful goal. He was keeping close control in the box to hold off two vale players, then shaped to shoot with his left, but pulled it back onto his right and curled it round the keeper to the far corner of the net. After that though he had a pretty frustrating time, but nice link up at times. S Cort 5 - went off at half time didn't do all that much in the first half, held it up a few times as you'd expect. Subs Sappleton 6 - On for Cort at half time, pretty quiet, did the sort of "big man" stuff you'd expect.
Master Fox Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Newton played in centre mid and he ran the show.  What was the final score?
Flynny Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 Newton playing central midfield sounds like a good idea the more I think about it. Hopefully we've struck on something worth persuing if he was really that good. Cheers for the report.
Simi Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007   What was the final score? 3-3 Good report milky
Simi Posted 10 September 2007 Posted 10 September 2007 OH!!!!... ........... Not so nice, in the end.
