BigGibbo Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 But could this chairman get anyone else?Yes he could money talks he's filled this job full of risks so he's got to pay whoever he wants enough money to make it worth the risk not hire someone who is desperate to do it on the cheap the tight tw@t. Quite simply press conference to be held at one. Where says this?
Tabou Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 whilst I am not inspired nor overwhelmed by the fact that megson is to be our gaffer, I think the bloke deserves a chance . (Only one chasnce though...). Personally, I am going to wait and see what becomes of City. If he wins a bunch of matches, and gets us promoted, whilst playing attack and exciting football, then he may just move up in the respect rankings! After all, the guy is used to being promoted. And Ill have a fiver on the fact that if were in the bottom half of teh table by christmas, he'll be gone. Dont shoot him down until he has had a chance! If he turns out to be utter shite, I'll organise the riot....
Tabou Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Please excuse my grammar and spelling and general punctuation in the above post....

Darkzzz_ Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 So we will find out today then.... what we all know already!! Gary Megson is the new gaffer.... I really hope mandaric tells us all at the press conference that he was just "pulling our legs" and infact our new manager is Fabio Capello.....
Tabou Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 ...but even more used to being relegated... True. But did he have the funds available to him at WBA when they were in the Premiership, to develop a team capable of stepping it up a level? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a die hard Megson fan, and teh fact he has been without a job for 18 months speaks for its self. No ****er else wanted him! Im just gonna wait and see . I dont want to be here in May after slating him, and finishing in the top 6!!! Everyone desrves a chance. But like I said, Only ONE!
Babylon Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 I'd be amazed if it was Pullis, MM has said several times including in the interview yesterday that he wants someone who has done the job that needs doing here. Getting promotion the the premier!!! Pullis hasn't done that.If it's not a manager from another club, and If the stories of Jewell and Warnock turning it down are true. then it will be Megson IMO. Saurdays lottery numbers will be 7, 16, 29, 30, 41, 48 Bonus Ball 2 Ok to try and look for some positives in this.... Before the debacle at forest Megson did an excellent job at West Brom getting them promoted twice into the premier league. People tend to look upon managers that they are only as good as their last job, well Dowie failed at Charlton in his last post but look where Cov are now. Forest were a complete and utter mess when he took over anyway, a succession of failed managers who all had to sell their best players. They were on a downward spiral before he even got there.
Babylon Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 ...but even more used to being relegated... 2 promotions and 2 relegations is it not? One a team he got the the premier, the other a team that were as good as on deaths door anyway.

This will never happen with megson even if by some act of god he gets us promoted it won't be pretty don't expect us to win by or even try to win by more than 1. To be honest i'd rather be in league one playing exciting football than in the premiership playing hoofball its all about the atmosphere baby & im at the game whatever so i would rather it was enjoyable. Hopefully he proves me wrong but i doubt it

Maybes Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 His record isn't brilliant to be honest. I am not happy with this at all!!!
teblin Posted 13 September 2007 Author Posted 13 September 2007 2 promotions and 2 relegations is it not? One a team he got the the premier, the other a team that were as good as on deaths door anyway. 3 relegations, did he not get norwich relegated?

demon_dog Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Is Milan suffering from Senile Dementia? After all he is 67. Didn't he say that he wanted a manager to get us into the premiership sooner rather than later? Not sure about the appointment if it is Megson. Which seems at this moment in time almost certain. Maybe he has Alzheimers, break out the pills, were in for a rocky ride this season until the pills kick in.
Fox in a Box Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Gary Megson will end months of frustration today by being appointed the new manager of Leicester City, the Coca-Cola Championship club, and so becoming the fourth manager of Milan Mandaric’s seven-month reign. Mandaric had targeted Billy Davies and Iain Dowie as a successor to Martin Allen, but has failed to tempt them away from Derby County and Coventry City respectively. Megson, who has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in February last year, impressed Mandaric in a three-hour interview yesterday and is expected to be given a three-year deal. Megson led West Bromwich Albion to the top flight twice in three seasons and Mandaric believes that he is the best man to meet his target of promotion. Megson, 48, will bring in Frank Burrows as his assistant, and is expected to name Gerry Taggart as first-team coach. Ex-Leicester stars Matt Elliott and Muzzy Izzet may also be given roles on the coaching staff. Megson is set to sit in the stands for the visit of QPR this Saturday but will be in the dug-out on Tuesday - at Forest for the Carling Cup replay.
Strokes Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 YOU CAN STICK YOUR GARY F**KING MEGSON UP YOUR ARSE, FFS MILAN IS A CRETIN.
Babylon Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 3 relegations, did he not get norwich relegated? I don't think so, didn't see that when I read up on him anyway.
