Manwell Pablo Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 This sucks. I blame Ultra. Are we going to sign Scott Dobie? Please, god, no.
JoeyB Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 if megson came out on top of the shortlist of four, who were the other wasters on the list? Chris Kamara ..............
BigGibbo Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 As much as I am going to back Megson, I must admit one thing stands out about this imminent appointment. Why is Milan hiring someone who has a reputation of causing an argument by himself in an empty room?!! Megson has fallen out with everyone over the years, especially chairmen of the clubs he has managed! Maybe he has the same mindset as some women the ones who only like the bad boys that no there gonna treat them like shit cos they like a challenge Yes thats it Milans got a bad boy fetish

Blue Bob Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 I think this sums up how a lot of fans feel.Mandaric may have been "impressed" with Megson's interview but we heard the same about Allen, a far more fan-friendly appointment despite his relative lack of credentials. I am in that group of fans who is also none to impressed by Megson however I want to look at it with my glass half full not half empty. What is a fan friendly appointment?? If Megson gets us promoted like he did for West Brom (twice) will that not be fan friendly? Sure MA posted regularly on the OS, he changed the flowers, he seemed to have new ways of motivating training with mars bars. However we lost the first game to blackpool, we were on the way to losing to Forest in the cup. So what do you want results or flowers? I want results, I dont care if we dont hear from him all week if we pick up 3 points on Saturday. All I ask is if we have got him back him until result prove otherwise
Micky Ruddle Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 I haven't even thought about giving Megson the chance to prove himself. He is a numpty. I do believe he has a poor track record. Correct me if i am wrong.
davieG Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Don't be fooled taggart will have no involvement on matchdays milans just added him to the mix cos he thinks were daft enough for that to make it alright that he's conned us, & taken the cheap option of a desperate Megson rather than paying any real money for someone good to come here. & as for leaking the possibility of elliot & izzet returning behind the scenes what ever he's just reeling of names of our old hero's to soften the blow. Thats my initial thoughts Would you like a subscription form to join me and my friends at Cynics Onymous.

All I ask is if we have got him back him until result prove otherwise I know we sometimes get demented and think of people from Gullit to Dalglish, Vialli to Keegan when we have a vacancy but to be realistic, we didn't have that many "live" options that would have satisfied the majority apart from Paul Jewell who seemingly wasn't ready to return to football management yet. Managers like Warnock and Roeder would have had a similar response so we have just got to dust ourselves off and support the lads even though we are not happy with the appointment. We have to get on with it and back whoever is in charge and maybe voice concerns only if results start going pear shaped.

All I ask is if we have got him back him until result prove otherwise I appreciate the sentiment but I backed Allen to be left disappointed. I'll back the team but I'm not going to waste my time backing a manager who will be out on his ear if he disagrees with Mandaric or doesn't have us in the top six by Christmas. A fan-friendly appointment is just that - an appointment that the fans welcome. And I don't see too many welcoming this one. It's all well and good with the benefit of hindsight but the main feeling here is that we were quite content with the Allen appointment. I backed Mandaric whole-heartedly right up until this appointment but I'm starting to have huge reservations now. We were sick of being a laughing stock on the pitch for the last few seasons but now we're a laughing stock off it too. The pressure is on.

Dames Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 [/b]2 promotions in 3 seasons is a poor track record???? And a hatful of relegation campaigns to add to that list aswell.
Daggers Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 [/b]2 promotions in 3 seasons is a poor track record???? Have a look at the rest of his career and see if you can pinpoint anything else worthy of note...aside from the succession of failure, arguments and blaming the board/chairman/players/fans/anyone else but himself. This is a sodding awful appointment that has abject disaster written all over it. I can understand people wanting to put another ounce of blind faith into hoping it will pan out - but it won't. It's bad and it's going to get worse.
Micky Ruddle Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 [/b]2 promotions in 3 seasons is a poor track record???? I stand corrected.

Kent Fox Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Maybe he's changed. Maybe he's learned a bit about himself over the last 18 months whilst he has been out of work. Mayb.. Nah! He's a knob.
Dames Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Leicester City will today name Gary Megson as their new manager with ex-City favourite Gerry Taggart as part of his staff. The 48-year-old former Stoke, West Brom and Nottingham Forest boss last night agreed terms with City chairman Milan Mandaric for a contract stretching two years after the end of the current season. He brings with him Frank Barlow as his assistant manager, a role he filled with Megson at Forest, and Taggart arrives as first-team coach. Shortly after sealing the deal, Megson told me: "To be able to get this opportunity is fantastic and it is one I aim to grasp with both hands." For the full exclusive interview with Megson see today's Leicester Mercury Signed and Sealed. Its a dark day for Leicester City
davieG Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Why should i get behind him? I got behind MA, where the fook did that get me? who's to say even if this bloke does start getting results, his job will be safe? I think this sums up how a lot of fans feel.Mandaric may have been "impressed" with Megson's interview but we heard the same about Allen, a far more fan-friendly appointment despite his relative lack of credentials. All this trust me bollocks, we have no option but to toe the line, he's got us by the short and curlies and this Megson appointment is bloody painful. He fooked up with MA and now he's left with the dregs of the football world that no one wants, not even a lower league team. As for the suppposed Taggart, Muzzy, Elliott appointments sorry MM but I don't take artificial sweetners. He's playing with my emotions I feel like a friend has told me they are leaving for good but I still have to go every week to our favourite pub and sit there on my own.
Master Fox Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Breaking news in the Merc http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/disp...;pNodeId=132401 Quote from that site: my missing orangutan manager, he is vile, just orange all over and like a steve maclaren type thing.....yuk... Oh well first signing will no doubt be Chris Bart-Williams The Zookeeper, Twycross
Bellend Sebastian Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 The honest appraisal of a sensible Forest fan I know. Yes, there is such a thing. "don't write him off completely as a manager. he did a few good things at forest... but ultimately he was a c**t and everybody hated him. he signed good players, but they soon hated him and, thus, didn't perform for him. he blamed results on 'dark forces' at the club. everyone else blamed them on ginger forces. but he's an intelligent guy who talks well. he's got a way of doing things that worked elsewhere and the fact that it failed so spectacularly at forest doesn't mean that it will at the fosse" Doesn't make me feel massively better
Micky Ruddle Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 I stand corrected. Or maybe i don't. Having looked on Wiki, his win percentages are poor. Norwich - 18% Blackpool - 40% Stockport - 34% Stoke - 40% West Brom - 42% - 2 Promotions in 3, fair enough F****t - 28%
Geo V Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Maybe he's changed.Maybe he's learned a bit about himself over the last 18 months whilst he has been out of work. Mayb.. Nah! He's a knob. I know maybe that comment was in jest but there is nothing better than a spell in the wilderness to make you sit up and assess what you are doing right or wrong, whether thats with a girlfriend or a job! Megson may well have decided to take a different approach after being out of the game for a while. Lets get him the chance at least.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 I f**king HATE "win percentages". They don't take any circumstances whatsoever into account.
Babylon Posted 13 September 2007 Posted 13 September 2007 Or maybe i don't.Having looked on Wiki, his win percentages are poor. Norwich - 18% Blackpool - 40% Stockport - 34% Stoke - 40% West Brom - 42% - 2 Promotions in 3, fair enough F****t - 28% So 3 out of the 6 have good a win % then, and 1 average. Considering Norwich was his first job and forest were already on the way down it's actually not bad.
