breadandcheese Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 BBC reported that Warnock was very close to getting the Leicester job in the summer, and yet were completely wrong. So hopefully they'll be completely wrong about this too... please... No, Warnock was very close to getting the job in the summer. Milan changed his mind and plumped for Allen instead, which explains why Warnock turned us down this time.
He's not bald Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 The only glimmer of hope I can see is that Megson hasn't been appointed just yet and maybe Milan is gauging reaction before a final decision, like he seemed to do with Warnock in the summer. What a depressing choice of manager if Megson does indeed come in. He is not a galvanising choice and will always be under pressure/a few games away from the sack if we go on a bad run of a few games. If it's a return to similar uninspiring hoofball of the last few years, I will be even more despondent. This just gets worse with every passing week...at least last season we didn't really have any hope, but this is just torture..sure I'll be there on Saturday "giving it large" cuz it's Leicester and that's the problem, how long doe's MM think we are gonna take this cr*p without a backlash? We are a laughing stock..even my numpty Cobblers supporting cousins are taking the pee!

From a 100 percent Sky Blues fan, I wish you the very best with this superb manager in charge. He is very well suited to be Manager of Leicester City.

Let's hope we don't finalise the deal. I'm so glad I'm driving up for the game on Saturday.
Raj Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Like i said im not over-whelmed by Megson BUT i feel any of the other candidates would have had mixed reactions. Imagine Warnock? Peter Reid? Glenn Roeder? Don't exactly fill you with confidence do they??? Dowie and Davies would have been better appointments but would be harder to get obviously. If MM did get one of themand they too would have failed, MM would have wasted even more money paying off their contracts and he'd look an even bigger fool. I aint going to lose sleep over Megsons appointment and i aint gonna throw my ST away. Just wait and see what happens....innit???
Phlashman Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Good post Raj, totally agree. Oh, and I presume everyone should be going to the QPR game expecting us to lose. Being a managers first game and all.

Geo V Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 He won't be in charge for tomorrow. Stop Press - Is it Gullit or Keegan?
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 I wonder how many Forest fans are laughing at this exact moment in time? Not many, wasn't his fault they went down and he has only ever really failed there (I think or was he poor at Norwich as well?), but he was good at West Brom too !! Better than Reid anyway !! Law of averages say that we have to have a good manager for once since MON left

Now you and your family can have a well earned rest...must have been exhausting for you all to have come up with that. By the way,Does Coventry still have a constant smell of piss?
Daggers Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Well...there's still nothing on Sky or Setenta about it. *crosses fingers, legs and testes*

We are a laughing stock..even my numpty Cobblers supporting cousins are taking the pee! This man had huge attitude problems with his players according to a WBA mate and a Forest mate which apparently was his downfall at both his last clubs. His teams play crap football and MA must have done something really bad for MM to give the job to this no hoper! For the first time in a long long time at the Watford game I sensed a huge optimism in the crowd, saw good football, saw what amounted to a promising squad of players and generally went away feeling really good for a change. I now feel hugely let down if this nonesense is true. Whilst a season ticket holder, I honestly don't think I can bother to go down with my two kids this weekend, what a fiasco! I'm fed up with all of it now. MM, if this is true, obviously doesn't know as much about football as he thinks he does! Why has the man been out of work for so long (like Peter Reid), I bet MA on the other hand gets snapped up pretty quick! As for Gerry, I have a huge amount of time and respect for him and it's sad to see him taint himself alongside Megson.

Just out of curiosity, who would YOU have realistically employed as the next manager had you been MM?
Raj Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 At least it aitn Roeder. Thats the attitude Berty boy!
Koke Posted 12 September 2007 Posted 12 September 2007 Alright lads. Lets just sleep on it and see what happens tomorrow.
