Father Ted Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Lions snare Douglas Saturday 15 Sep 2007 An injury to teenage goalkeeper Preston Edwards has led Millwall boss Willie Donachie to snap up Leicester City shot-stopper Rab Douglas on an emergency four-week loan deal. Edwards returned to the New Den on Thursday after being called up for the England Under-19 squad and promptly suffered a hand injury. First-choice keeper Lenny Pidgeley is still recovering from long-term foot and back problems, so Donachie has moved quickly to sign the former Scotland international. Donachie told the Lions' official website: "We're not having the best of luck with goalkeepers at the moment and Preston is naturally very frustrated. "Fortunately, in Rab Douglas we've acquired a very experienced replacement who's played at international level."

Simon Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Bet we're still paying his wages though... doubt Millwall could afford them.
James. Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 And in time blink of an eye (well, 4 weeks) he'll back doing whatever it is Rab does at Leicester these days.
Webbo Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Bet we're still paying his wages though... doubt Millwall could afford them. They must be paying a portion of them surely.
DB11 Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 We'll still be paying his wages, yet he won't be at Leicester to help train / coach / give his experience to the younger keepers. Bad move IMO but ah well.
davieG Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 We'll still be paying his wages, yet he won't be at Leicester to help train / coach / give his experience to the younger keepers. Bad move IMO but ah well. Thank the lord for that I bet all he does is fetch the ball from all the off-target shooting. Oh and what do you think Stowell is paid to do?
DB11 Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Thank the lord for that I bet all he does is fetch the ball from all the off-target shooting.Oh and what do you think Stowell is paid to do? Became the assistant manager every 4 games?
Geo V Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Lets hope he impresses enough to get a free transfer to them.
Guest Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Became the assistant manager every 4 games? How long are you planning on keeping up this charade for?
Simi Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 We'll still be paying his wages, yet he won't be at Leicester to help train / coach / give his experience to the younger keepers. Bad move IMO but ah well. He is not a coach! Stowell is the goalkeeping coach. End of. I'm glad he's gone for now. Hopefully he realizes how much he misses playing regular football and will find himself a new club for good.
MC Prussian Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Lets hope he impresses enough to get a free transfer to them. And never comes close to Leicester and the Shire again.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 They'll be paying all they can afford they're obviously quite desperate. Pidgely I remember when he was third choice at Chelsea.
David Guiza Posted 15 September 2007 Posted 15 September 2007 Deeney grabbed the winner when he poked in Sonko's lofted cross past the dive of Rob Douglas. he played a game
dandannieldanok Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 Conceded 4 yesterday against Carlisle Can't wait until he's back
WetFlannel Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 Congratulations!!!! As soon as we start to forget him, you go and remind us hes still ours Well hopefully ill get it out of my system by Friday...
Milky Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 Just because he conceded 4 doesn't mean he had a bad game. Some shots are too good to be saved. For all we know he could've played brilliantly and saved them from an 8-0. I'm guessing though he was crap
Mr Happy Posted 7 October 2007 Posted 7 October 2007 He actually kept a clean sheet against Northampton Too many more of them and he'll be back here as 2nd choice ahead of Casino Jimmy and Hendo
