davieG Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 From Derby OS BILLY'S NO STANDING MESSAGE Posted on: Mon 17 Sep 2007Derby County manager Billy Davies has issued the following message to all supporters. Dear Rams fan. I am issuing this personal plea to you because of a series of complaints about people continuing to stand during games at Pride Park Stadium. Recently this resulted in a young fan sustaining an injury when he fell after climbing onto a seat in an attempt to see over supporters who were standing in front of him. This is not acceptable, especially as Derby County has been consistent for some time now in its message to fans not to stand during games. I am now informed by police and the stadium's security team that we now have no option but to increase our vigilance and to place immediate banning order on anyone who flouts stadium rules in this way. The club has come to this decision reluctantly, but we really are left with no other option. Thank you as always for your superb support both home and away - but please respect your fellow fans. Up the Rams! Billy Davies

James. Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I always find it quite satisfying if I get a knock round the back of the head, a knee up my arse or an elbow in my back when I go to a football game. Colchester away springs to mind. It's all part of going to a match as far as I'm concerned. Shame.
Simi Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I think we should start a national "Go to sit down and miss your chair campaign". That will get this issue turned in our favour, apparently.
Rincewind Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I take it you won't be sending a get well message to the young boy that was injured then?
Raj Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 When we were at Filbo we had to stand on th seats (Pen 2) to see anything. I was fcuking knackered when i got home! So its not just at City where standing is an issue!
purpleronnie Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Jeeez talk about over reaction, I guess thats what england is like now. This is why they should be standing areas. STANDING IS NOT ILLEGAL!!!!!!!
Daggers Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I tell you what - my knees loved the introduction of seats. By full-time my left knee used to give me so much gip from standing...and both of them would if I wasn't leaning on a stanchion. Plus, some cnut would always knock my flask over and tread on my Marmite sandwiches. God bless all-seater stadia, that's what I say.
Thracian Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Big deal. Kids fall down/fall off things all the time. His parents should have had my son climbing across the roofs of Hinckley's Market Square banks from the time he was 10/11 or spending days on end swimming at Croft Quarry. How did the little mite survive? One thing if we ever have another world war the Government won't have a leg to stand on soliciting recruits. Too sodding dangerous by half those wars.

ASH17LCFC Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Billy davies is a puppet being told what to say or just really really wanted to wind up Standupandsing.
ASH17LCFC Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 No, Now there hopes are built up. They will be going on how they will stay up and then we can all laugh, when they go down and remind them of times like these.
Floating Fox Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Billy davies is a puppet being told what to say or just really really wanted to wind up Standupandsing. Both>?
Simi Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 If standing was brought back, would you stand up Thracian ? I don't mean to speak for Thracian, but he came and supported us in N Block and stood, also helped bang the drum.
