Ric Flair Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He turned down a £3m move to Watford in the summer I seem to remember? I doubt he`d come to us for anything more than a loan but as long as he helps us out thats all that counts. Lets hope he has the same effect that the last big powerful pacy striker had on us when coming in on loan and the last one I can think of was Arsenals Kevin Campbell. It was in January, when they were in the Premiership. That was at a time when he was still very much in Fulham's plans and was undergoing his first spell where he wasn't scoring or playing that regularly so perhaps he felt he didn't want to leave. I think Sanchez has made it clear that John isn't one of their main strikers this season and i'm sure he wouldn't stand in his way should he want to leave. I think a loan deal is the most likely deal for John either now or in January. Permanently he'd probably still fancy getting in to a Premiership side. Deal until December 31st. Score between 5-10 goals. Enjoy the spell, consider staying for the rest of the season and re-assess things then. That would be the ideal scenario.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Contrary to what some have said, I don't think central midfield is our main problem at the moment. We've got fifth and sixth choice players in there right now and we're picking up points against Stoke and Wolves and winning on the road at Wednesday. Strikers on the other hand, I think have been extremely ordinary to the point where I would still rate Mark de Vries as performing no worse than anyone else so far really. Clem, Weso, Hume in midfield, Fryatt and John up front is mouthwatering.

Ric Flair Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Defo! I know he's not getting a sniff at Spurs, but I think he's out of our price range son!

To be fair to him though that was many moons ago and its probably been replaced by a different one... i Personally hope Collins John can have a similar impact... its possible...

Koke Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Clem, Weso, Hume in midfield, Fryatt and John up front is mouthwatering. That would be ideal, and I think that's what Megson is thinking as well. He obviously likes Fryatt and there is no way in heaven he can drop Hume to the bench. Hume is very versatile and he'd defo do a good job alongside Weso and Clemence.

Ozwin Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I swear he can play as an Attacking Midfielder. Not too bad a player to be linked to really IMO.
FilboFox Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Sounds good.... but get rid of some of the deadweight... and get in a few defenders and central midfielders.
MPH Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Sounds good.... but get rid of some of the deadweight... and get in a few defenders and central midfielders. a few more of each? wow... we'd have any team in a fight with the amount of players we got....
Koke Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I don't trust Fulham. Last player we got from them is now collecting his wages doing **** all besides driving around city centre eating Maryland Chickens.
Blue Bob Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 I know he's not getting a sniff at Spurs, but I think he's out of our price range son! He is probably not getting a sniff at Spurs because he plays for Fulham????
Finnegan Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He is probably not getting a sniff at Spurs because he plays for Fulham???? It was a gag about Jermaine Defoe. God. Keep up, people.
Blue Bob Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 It was a gag about Jermaine Defoe. God. Keep up, people. What a wonderful play on words, clearly the mark of a genius!!
Bryn Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 He is probably not getting a sniff at Spurs because he plays for Fulham???? Woosh! Would be a good signing.
Simon Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Convinces me more and more that Megson intends to use Hume as the forward most prong of a three man midfield with Clem and Weso playing alongside him, hopefully with Collins John and Fryatt up front. That has the POTENTIAL to be quite tasty IMO.

IF that is his plan, then i must admit... i'd be liking that... i wonder where it all leaves Dj though....
Koke Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 IF that is his plan, then i must admit... i'd be liking that... i wonder where it all leaves Dj though.... It'll leave him on the bench, playing best out of 10 in Rock, Paper, Scissors with Carl Cort.

Webbo Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Hard to say anything that hasn't all ready been said but Collins John would be an excellent signing.
Milky Posted 11 October 2007 Posted 11 October 2007 Hard to say anything that hasn't all ready been said but Collins John would be an excellent signing. Which is why it probably won't happen unfortunately.
