Ric Flair Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 It appears our club and manager are angering thousands and thousands of Iranians! I shouldn't laugh, but could you imagine if Mandaric offered to meet with them to smooth things over, can't imagine they'll be as easy to win over as the 'One Martin Allen' chanters.

They are just desperate for one of their own to succeed! I think because English football is held in such high regard, players from countries like Iran will always come under the spotlight when they play over here. The Iranians are desperate for there players to succeed abroad as to them leagues like the Premier League is almost fantasy land and to have own of there own in England with a chance to be playing in the Premiership one day will interest most Iranian footy fans. I can remember whenever a Greek or the odd Cypriot slipped into the Premiership, I`d make an effort to follow their careers . Imagine the smile on my face when we signed Theo and Dabizas . Then again I even started following Lazio just for Gazza and would watch Serie A on Channel 4 just for him and have always followed Brits in the big leagues like Ian Rush at Juve to Becks at Real Madrid. However, I wont watch crap football from America . There is just something great about seeing one of your own (IO have about 5 countries as my own ) doing well abroad in football.

Many iranians are a bit upset and confused that he isn´t getting any playing time but we are all hopefull that he someday can help Leicester back in the premier League. Everybody in Iran thats loves football follows the premier league and loves it ( just like Serie A and La liga )....and if an iranian is playing in a club then that club have aproximatly 70 million new fans. I come in here and Boltons forum almost everyday to read news regarding Kaebi and Andranik T.

The_Persian Posted 17 October 2007 Author Posted 17 October 2007 I feel your pain. You must be so tired about hearing about Alan Sheehan by now. haha I´m frustrated but one thing that puts a smile on my face is that some of you guys still belivies in him and like him.
Thracian Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 hahaI´m frustrated but one thing that puts a smile on my face is that some of you guys still belivies in him and like him. Yes, the ones who haven't seen him. I want him to succeed as much as the next guy but I think his so-called supporters are being totally unfair to him in pressing for his inclusion in the first team before he is ready. Acclimatising to English football often takes time for foreign players - when has Shevchenko ever justified his place in the Chelsea side - and some never manage it at all. Kaebi I don't know. He may succeed but only if he and his followers have patience. However, if he is exposed to first team football the way he's playing right now and before he has had time to define his best position and then evolve a method of playing it, then he's going to embarrass himself as he already has done at times.

We are as desperate as you are to see him succeed mate. As Iranians you have had plenty to smile about in recent years with the likes of Mahdavikia, Teymourian and Karimi moving abroad. Lets hope Kaebi becomes as successful with us.
maddog Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Kaebi not in the reserve squad for tonights game. possibly playing on Saturday then?
Geo V Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Kaebi not in the reserve squad for tonights game. possibly playing on Saturday then? Maybe on the bench?? City: Carl Pentney, Alan Maybury, Lathanial Rowe-Turner, Marco Ferreira, Darren Kenton, Scott Garner, Ashley Chambers, Billy McKay, Ricky Sappleton, Levi Porter, Jonathan HayesSubs: Ryan Beswick, Joe Cobb, Steven Howard, Adda Djeziri, Lee Cox Good to hear Ferreira and Hayes are fit again.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 I hope he does, and I hope he stuffs the endless amount of negative crap thats been coming from Thracian back down this throat.
maddog Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Maybe on the bench??Good to hear Ferreira and Hayes are fit again. think its the first time hes not been in a reserve game before a 1st team game since he got fit. Hopefully at least on bench Saturday
Geo V Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 think its the first time hes not been in a reserve game before a 1st team game since he got fit. Hopefully at least on bench Saturday You be be right there. I cant see him displacing a now seemingly confident Stearman. Maybe he will be used in the middle of the park but I`d doubt that he has the physique to carry that role? Leicester City's switch of formation is placing greater physical demands on Richard Stearman - but the young defender admits he is loving it.Stearman has been called on by manager Gary Megson to provide the width from right wing-back in his 5-3-2/3-5-2 set-up. The 20-year-old joked the responsibility of getting up and down the touchline to support the attack and defence was adding years to him. But, after being out of the side under former manager Martin Allen, Stearman admitted he was enjoying the extra demands being placed on him. He said: “There's a lot of mileage for myself, Joe Mattock and Alan Sheehan, whoever is playing in the wing-back positions. You have to get forward and defend. Because you haven't got a winger in front of you, defensively and attacking-wise you almost have to do both jobs. “It might take a few years off my career but I enjoy getting forward. “The manager has given me a chance to prove myself and hopefully I am repaying him. “I am happy to be back in the team. Under the last manager I was not getting much of a look-in but with the new gaffer it's a fresh start for everyone.†That fresh start has seen City lose just once under Megson - at Charlton - and sign off for the international break with victory at Sheffield Wednesday. And since the switch to the new system at half-time against Charlton, City have conceded just one goal in more than 400 minutes of football. Stearman admitted it had made City hard to beat and that they were now determined to improve their cutting edge, starting with Saturday's trip to S****horpe. “The manager has changed the system and gone with three centre-backs,†said Stearman. “That seems to suit the personnel we have got. “I think the gaffer is renowned for having teams with good defensive records and I think we have looked solid in the last three games. “We have the best defensive record in the league and seem to be getting it right at one end. The key now is to get it going at the other as well. “S****horpe are doing well and could be a surprise package. We are looking to kick on from our last game and push ourselves up the league.â€
Thracian Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Maybe on the bench??Good to hear Ferreira and Hayes are fit again. Hayes has played the last two weeks.
Thracian Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 I hope he does, and I hope he stuffs the endless amount of negative crap thats been coming from Thracian back down this throat. If for some extraordinary reason he does get selected I hope he does too - because I certainly wouldn't want him showing the form he did for the reserves the last two matches - and neither would you! There are so many people who have not watched him who have canvassed for his inclusion in the first team that I am quite sure that if he does play he'll have a blinder whatever - if only to protect their point of view. Me I'm staggered at the very thought. He was injured against WBA, managed 60 not very good minutes against Stoke and suddenly he's presumed on here to be right for the first team. Ridiculous. But unlike some, I'll judge him fairly on his actual performance if he does play rather than on some fancy record in a book. Hopefully his shortcomings will all disappear in the next three days.
mmarkie Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 maybe he'll play right wing on saturday as we have no-one else to play there?
Simi Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 maybe he'll play right wing on saturday as we have no-one else to play there? 5-3-2?

Koke Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 I hope he does, and I hope he stuffs the endless amount of negative crap thats been coming from Thracian back down this throat. To be fair, Thrac has only said that he shouldn't be picked on current form. And that he should prove himself in the reserves just like Cort, Fryatt and the gang did. Hardly a crime that is.

And that he should prove himself in the reserves just like Cort, Fryatt and the gang did.Hardly a crime that is. yet thrac was saying Sheehan should be in the team last season despite so destictly average performances for Mansfield on loan, and is saying this year for Louis Dodds who can't even get picked as a striker for Lincoln
Asha Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 yet thrac was saying Sheehan should be in the team last season despite so destictly average performances for Mansfield on loan, and is saying this year for Louis Dodds who can't even get picked as a striker for Lincoln Agreed, any player who can't get into debatebly the worst team in the football league has no place in our team surely.
Jimmy Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Agreed, any player who can't get into debatebly the worst team in the football league has no place in our team surely. that wasn't my point, what i was saying is Thrac changes the rules to suit his arguement
worksopfox Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 Been to the reserve game tonight. Hayes never got in the game, actually looked quite average against a very young Sheffield United team. Kenton also played with not much interest, Ferriera showed his talent in patches. Sappelton was impressive until he got injured. We were second best to be fair. The bench was amusing though especially Mike Stowell
