Churchill Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Im just watching SSN now and there was about 10 bolton fans protesting about megson being manager outside the reebok looks like he aint got the backing there neither.
Fat Ron Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 How funny would it be if Gartside goes back on his choice now... Megson back in the wilderness for another 18 months...
Ric Flair Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 It will be interesting to see what happens there. I have a feeling Gartside might be forced in to not appointing Megson. He's due to watch the Braga game from the stands tonight and then be appointed in the morning. If there 25,000 Bolton fans going mad at Gartside about Megson, it could easily lead to him having second thoughts. Resulting in Gary being out of work yet again and probably never to get another club in the top 2 leagues in English football again. Good.

City Fan Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 How funny would it be if Gartside goes back on his choice now... Megson back in the wilderness for another 18 months... Not funny because then we don't get the compo........ It would be funnier if he got the Bolton job and then sacked weeks later!
Fat Ron Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Compo....Sh*t forgot about that.... Bolton Fans, He is a Ginger god... You will undoubtably win the UEFA cup with him in charge... Now, about that £300k...
Dr The Singh Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Compo....Sh*t forgot about that....Bolton Fans, He is a Ginger god... You will undoubtably win the UEFA cup with him in charge... Now, about that £300k... He'll get the job, remember, he wasn't so popular here at first but he seemed to win many fans over!!!
Vacamion Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Leicester City is hardly whiter than white when it comes to SSN coverage of embarrassing protests from a handful of unemployed fans who want to whine on TV ...
Ric Flair Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 It said on SSN that megson could be bolton manager today Excellent news.
newms Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 He'll get the job, remember, he wasn't so popular here at first but he seemed to win many fans over!!! He managed to lose them just as quick. Bolton are on a one way route to the Championship and are getting a manager that is better suite to that division. Megson has won a total of 15% of all his premiership games. That record will probably get even worse at Bolton
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Im just watching SSN now and there was about 10 bolton fans protesting about megson being manager outside the reebok looks like he aint got the backing there neither. They must have been watching on Tuesday night

Jon the Hat Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 If Megson left here without having a contract of some sort already signed with Bolton I would be very very surprised.
kendalfox Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 the bolton job is in the bag for megson, always has been. i think his agent and he have worked very hard to get him back in charge of a premiership club, especially as his agent was on the interview panel when bolton approached sourness (sic). we have been used as a pawn to position megson, which has set us back 6 weeks of this campaign. we can only sympathise with the bolton fans, however look at the chelsea/avram grant situation. a few decent results and the fans are satiated.
sdb Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 MMs just had a few sly digs at GM on SSN. 'i want a loyal, stable manager who doesn't walk out afteer 6 weeks...'
The People's Hero Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 MMs just had a few sly digs at GM on SSN. 'i want a loyal, stable manager who doesn't walk out afteer 6 weeks...' No - he likes sacking them.
Simi Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Mandaric really laying into Megson on SSN! Good, I hope he does end up at Bolton, just so we can watch them get spanked by Bayern Munich
The Stig Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Megson was beginning to win me over. Now I hope he crashes and burns at Bolton, we gave him his big channce to get back into football and 6 weeks later he stabs us in the back. If he cocks it up at Bolton his career is over, and as far as I'm concerned that's what he deserves
Tevez Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Now Manager of Bolton, Gary Megson. All the best, cnut.
Simi Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Megson Takes Control At The ReebokPosted on: Thu 25 Oct 2007 BOLTON WANDERERS FOOTBALL CLUB are delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Megson as the Club's new manager. The former Leicester City manager has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at the Reebok and will take charge of team affairs from Sunday's match against Aston Villa in the Barclays Premier League. Commenting on the capture of Megson, Wanderers' chairman Phil Gartside said: "We have been able to interview a number of quality candidates and have taken into consideration all the factors which we consider applicable for the post and, after due consideration, decided to offer the post to Gary Megson. "We feel Gary is the right man to take Bolton Wanderers forward. I have paid particular attention to his career and he has demonstrated to me that he is prepared to roll his sleeves up and has the right temperament for a battle, which this season is undoubtedly going to be. "We have made decisive decisions over the past few weeks and this is one of them. It is not about me, Gary Megson or any other individual, it is all about Bolton Wanderers surviving in the Premier League. "We have to be fully-focussed on the task ahead to make sure we achieve immediate success. I have spoken to the staff and the players and we are all committed to get behind Gary and turn our fortunes around." The Manchester-born Megson will watch his new players for the first time this evening, when Wanderers take on SC Braga in the UEFA Cup at the Reebok Stadium.
Jimmy Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 hope we get them at home in the cup this season, give him the abuse he deserves
Ric Flair Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I am simply in disbelief that Bolton have appointed him. It is one of the most absurd decisions in football to date.

We may have been used as a pawn, but this pawn could be worth £300,000. If MM had sacked him (which I suspect would eventually happen), MM would have had to pay him!! I wish I could make £300,000 in 6 weeks^^
Jay1982 Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 I know it was formalities but just thpught id put it up http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/7061876.stm
