Trouble flared outside Elland Road before and after today's game between Leeds United and Millwall.

Police officers on horseback charged at Leeds fans waiting outside Elland Road near the Billy Bremner statue as three double decker buses filled with Millwall supporters pulled up at around 2.15pm.

Windows and doors on the buses were put through by yobs on board as they tried

to goad watching Leeds fans into confrontation.

Police managed to avoid any actual physical clashes taking place.

As the trouble flaredd a line of police held back a mob of around 200 chanting Leeds fans a short distance down Elland Road while a police helicopter hovered overhead.

There were further disturbances after the game as police tried to force Leeds fasn a safe distance from the ground while Millwall supporters were held inside.

Officers on horseback and others with dogs and armed with truncheons spent around 40 minutes clearing the area around Elland Road.

At one point clashes between cops and United yobs trying to stand their ground could be seen breaking out in the local McDonalds car park.

Once order had been restored Millwall fans were let out of the stadium onto a number of double decker buses and driven away under heavy police escort at about 5.55pm.

Safe to say the return leg at The Den could be eventful.

Rumours from Leeds are that major punishments could be heading each way. Points deductions and games behind closed doors.

Imagine how p*ssed off the Leeds players would be if that happened!

All that hard work to be ruined by some idiots in the stands.

I would love Leeds to stay down due to the fans being tw@ts! lol

Why on earth was this a 3pm kick off?

No idea.

No chance of that next time around though.

Probably behind closed doors I'd think.

Reading the Waccoe, sounds like the Police fueled the trouble.

Why do we have to keep putting up with such scum. About time someone stuck a bullet in their heads.

I would pay a considerable amount see that :D

I have no problem with fans who want to fight, but its when innocent people get caught up in it.

They should do what the polish do, arrange a fight in some field in the middle of nowhere.

If you ask me sometimes the police are worse than the fans.

Agreed. Forest Vs Leiceter first time around for example.

In the first picture, why is a man wearing a pair of plastic bag pants?

Also, i feel sorry for bloke on the right in the 3rd picture, he looks like he really doesn't want to be there.

This fighting that you don't seem to have aproblem with is why we are all forced to sit and shut up at matches, why we are treated like cattle at football matches, why we have the over reaction / over manning of police at matches?

I said fighting away from the ground in the middle of nowhere usually no even on the matchday itself, hardly the reason why fans get treated the way they do. It was hillsborough that caused almost all the stupid rules.

I had to laugh at that one picture where you see the two skinnies sticking their heads out, with the ad on the bus adding a little ironic touch to the situation:

Fighting is fighting where ever it occurs and if it's associated with football fans we are all tarred with the same brush and all suffer the consequences.

Hillsborough wasn't! It was the excuse they needed to implement all these controls based on all the previous violence at football matches, ironically Hillsborough had very little to do with this violence and thuggery.
