Fox in a Box Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Would take him. His managerial style would be a breath of fresh air and he's got a good record of getting results in this division, with and without money. What he did at Oldham was outstanding. agreed, manny..... I have been bleating on about royle since the days of Micky Adams. It should be Royle, Garry Mac and Taggs...... Beautiful.
Cheese Me Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 agreed, manny.....I have been bleating on about royle since the days of Micky Adams. It should be Royle, Garry Mac and Taggs...... Beautiful. I'd be pretty happy with this. Any one of Jewell, Grayson or Royle would suit me down to the ground.
Scow Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 I've put his name forward before. Did a decent job at Ipswich despite having to work to a tight budget. Also not forgetting the good jobs he did at Man City, Everton and Oldham. I'd be happy with the appointment. There's not much better available.
teblin Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Decent record indeed. I was a bit sceptical based on the fact he hasn't had a job for over a year now but then he was 11 months out the game between Everton and Man City and about 15 months between Man City and Ipswich so maybe it's not important.Certainly he's not a Megson-style defensive manager. Interesting idea. Yeah i know what you mean. I wasn't sure when i fisrst heard his name. But he's a good idea could steady the ship.
Fat Ron Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Pheeew.... Had him mixed up with Joe Kinnear, and thought NOOOOOO!! And now he turns out to be a really good shout.... I'll happily settle with Mr. Royle.(My 1st post by the way.....) Joe Kinnear... **** me, I've just had a heart attack!!
Koke Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Don't understand all the negative vibes on page one. He really is a manager with a good track record. And it'd be fantastic to have him here.
Rocky Dennis Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Don't understand all the negative vibes on page one. He really is a manager with a good track record. And it'd be fantastic to have him here. I Agree. With some City fans its instinctive to be negative!
teblin Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Joe Royle will meet chairman Milan Mandaric this week to discuss the vacant manager's job at Leicester. (Daily Star)
ronnup Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Joe Royle will meet chairman Milan Mandaric this week to discuss the vacant manager's job at Leicester. (Daily Star) i'd take him above pretty much all the other options. On paper alone let alone how ridiculous some of the other options are.
BigGibbo Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 F@ck sake most the people on here seem to be melodramatic arseholes Royle would be a very suitable appointment
Dr The Singh Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 F@ck sake most the people on here seem to be melodramatic arseholes Royle would be a very suitable appointment I have to agree looking at the options we have, he would be suitable experienced candidate!!
BigGibbo Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 I have to agree looking at the options we have, he would be suitable experienced candidate!! would prefer Ince, Jewell or Keegan but Royle comes a close 4th in that order
Jon the Hat Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 The more I think about this the better it sounds. Exoperience by the sackload, attacking football and man enough to handle Milan. I'll take him. Oh yes.
xlive2 Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 dont know if any of you guys know this but just seen thin on sky sports website not 2 impressed myself think we can get better wot are your opinions click here

Flynny Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Solid choice. If you think otherwise do a bit of research and complain later when you're not just being ignorant. I must admit when I first heard the name I thought "uh-oh", but actually I'd welcome him.
Boycie Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 I just hope we get a manager so he would be a great appointment.

I must admit when I first heard the name I thought "uh-oh", but actually I'd welcome him. Failed to take Ipswich up in 4 seasons despite having the likes of Darren Bent around, not sure about him at all.
Koke Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Failed to take Ipswich up in 4 seasons despite having the likes of Darren Bent around, not sure about him at all. He took them to two play-offs. Granted, he lost them both. But consider the fact that he did well with Ipswich during their administration period. And don't ignore his achievements elsewhere i.e. Oldham, Everton etc.
isaidno Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 I'd be happy with that. He's a lot better than some of the names going around.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 Failed to take Ipswich up in 4 seasons despite having the likes of Darren Bent around, not sure about him at all. Did well for three seasons though and scored a lot of goals. They lost in the play-offs twice to West Ham which is fair enough really. West Ham were a Premiership team in waiting. If you want attacking football then this is your man. You will struggle to find a better candidate in my opinion. The acceptable face of experience.
