Fox in a Box Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Todays news not yet released!.....or was it yesterdays?
Dames Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Well he shouldnt be such a calamity. And He's got no chance of displacing Fulop.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 He's getting paid loads to do sod all. I'll apply for his job if he leaves. I'm as tall as him as well
Micky Ruddle Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Not to fussed. Awful keeper. If he wants to go, let him go.
davieG Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Or perhaps it was September - cutting edge news from the mockery again. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...&hl=Nielsen
Monk Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 You're missing half of the headline. It should read: Jimmy Nielson wants out... landish gamble to pay off
Thracian Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Or perhaps it was September - cutting edge news from the mockery again.http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...&hl=Nielsen I knew it was there but that news was so old you did well to find it.
Ric Flair Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 It is in today's Mercury, but it's almost the same that was said back in September. Calm before the storm when Tigana gets unleashed.
Thracian Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 They'll be printing the Sermon on the Mount next as hot news. Nielson's attitude is perfectly understandable and a move for him is in everyone's interests. I am not aiming this at him but this idea of people coming here simply to play first team football pisses me off. Kaebi's not happy and I don't suppose Ferreira or one or two others are were/are either. Do these footballers seriously believe they should get preferential treatment? Do they not think other people might want to be playing in the first team too? The answer for all of them is dead simple and it should be the same for everyone who sets foot on a pitch. Work hard, train hard and play well. That's what should get you in the team. I don't know about the working and the training. But I've not seen any of them play well for any length of time, quite the contrary in many instances. Lots of players have had disappointments. Sheehan had nearly two years of virtual exile. Dodds never got a chance at all. Kenton was largely forgotten. Gradel was sent out on loan after two scintillating seasons of scoring goals and winning things. The latest signings should speak to them about disappointment. And then show they've got what it takes to play English football if they really want to be considered.
The Reverend Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 You can train however hard you like, if you're shit, you're shit, end of.
Mack Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 His best hope is Martin Allen getting a new Manager's job
Joe. Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Fair enough to be honest. It's in everyone's best interests if he goes.
Mack Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Maybe he did'nt realise the goals were larger in England

Bit harsh on Kaebi and Ferreira seeing as the OS lauded them when they were signed, "beating off Premiership competition for Kaebi" including a serious late bid from Wigan, and now they have to prove themselves in the reserves. Players like Clemence haven't had to. Whatever you might say about that, neither of them have mentioned their disquiet in public and Kaebi in particular has just got on with the job of being shunted around the reserves defence.
surrifox Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 a purely rhetorical question of course but what the f**k was this signing( and a couple of the others ) about?

MC Prussian Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 To be fair, we have sort of a recent history of bringing in crap players (initially disguised as "gifted individuals") whose stay with LCFC NEVER pays off. Besides, when's the last time we had a decent foreign player on the roster? Remember this guy? Oh, and Pegguy Arphexad springs to mind... 10 years ago... *Swoons*
Fox in a Box Posted 14 November 2007 Author Posted 14 November 2007 Leicester City's forgotten goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen is looking for a way out of the Walkers Stadium. Nielsen has held talks about his future with City and said today: “I have told them that I want to look for a new club.†The 30-year-old Dane has failed to break into the first team since being signed on a two-year deal by former manager Martin Allen in June this year. “The past few months have not been good,†admitted Nielsen. “It's not been fun because I came here to play first-team football, not for the reserves. “I'm also at an age where I want to be playing regularly and I am happy Leicester have given me permission to look for a new club. “These things will not happen straight away. I don't know what can be sorted out, but I will hope to move on during the January transfer window. “I may try to look for another English club because I do like the country and have settled in Leicester. But, really, I'm open to everything.†Nielsen, who was handed the No.1 shirt when he joined City from Aalborg, played in a handful of pre-season friendlies against lower league opposition, but has only made the bench for the opening Championship fixture against Blackpool. And he believes his chances of breaking through have been further damaged by the arrival of Marton Fulop on a season-long loan from Premier League side Sunderland. “Marton is a very good keeper and I don't think they need me, so I have made my case for leaving. “They don't think I'm good enough but I do believe in myself and I think I still have a lot to offer. “Leicester are a good club and have a good future but I have to look at my own situation now.†Nielsen is among a number of signings by former boss Allen who have failed to make the breakthrough at the Walkers Stadium. Iranian international Hossein Kaebi has featured in just 10 minutes of action as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Watford in August. Kaebi, along with Nielsen and Portuguese midfielder Marco Ferreira, has seen more action with the reserves this season than with the first team.

Players like Clemence haven't had to.Whatever you might say about that, neither of them have mentioned their disquiet in public and Kaebi in particular has just got on with the job of being shunted around the reserves defence. a) The OS have as much responsibility as the club for knowing about the players we sign if they are going to make valued comment. b) Clemence's ability in English football had been demonstrated week in, week out at Birmingham. He could have been watched on a weekly basis and there was endless video footage available. I find it difficult to believe that was the case with Kaebi and Ferrara. I suspect a large dose of agent speak. c) Kaebi's disenchantment at Megson was mentioned to me in strong terms. If he feels he has a better chance now, fine. But it is not as if, like Kishishev for instance, he is not getting games. Kaebi is picked regularly. Ferreira has played and was named for the Walsall game so I've no idea why he didn't show. Hellings and Djiziri have played regularly too. Progress is squarely in their own hands.

All I'm saying is that it's harsh to moan at them when they've said nothing publicly. If they were happy in private at playing for the reserves then that would be far, far worse. It's good that they're not happy about it and it's good that they haven't got whinging to the press.
