I'd be much prouder to be a Jock at the moment then English, but fair play, it looks like you're going through and they're not. C'est la vie, really. It's arguably better for the tournament - no one can deny France and Italy have much, much better players and a far stronger pedigree to bring to the tournament.

Certainly valiant, though.

See you in Austria/Switzerland Scotland

Oh sorry we wont

...but pride is meant to come before the fall - and they just tripped up good and proper.

Mmhh, not sure, really. It depends what you take pride in, really. When you compare the quality (and wages!) of the England and Scotland teams, really, on paper - and then look at the standards of opposition (France and Italy vs Croatia and Russia?) then I think it's fair to say that what the Scots achieved was fairly staggering, really, and England have made a fairly easy group a total and utter chore for themselves.

Before Milky gets up in arms and starts having a moan again, I'd like to be the first to congratulate England on their probable qualification and point out that, yes, Scotland just weren't good enough. But for those of us who take pride in heart, and effort (because being a Welsh football fan you don't have much more to look for) - you can't really fault the Jocks today.

Absolutely gutted for Scotland. Forking unfairly cruel on them. England are the spawniest c*nts ever. Hoping for a Croatia win on Wednesday now.

I'll never understand you. Totally twattish comment.

If England do qualify, will you be supporting them in the tournament?

I don't really care to be honest, and I won't be losing any sleep because you think I'm a twat. You stick to rubbing people up the wrong way and I'll stick to doing as I'm doing.

No. And I can say that now as a certainty.

So if England are in the KO stages and are winning 1-0 with a minute to go, you won't be sitting there bricking it with the rest of us?

JME, how come you won't be supporting England?

Very true. It must be very gutting on a Scottish football perspective at the minute.

It's typical England relying on others to do the job (Albeit we aren't there yet.)

That's a bit of shame really. For me, there's always something magical about being involved in a summer tournament. Even though it always ends in heartbreak, the atmosphere is electric.

I agree mate.

When you're watching it, and you get streams from different venues over England and fans going mad when England score etc, there's nothing like it.

Unlucky, little Scotland. Must hurt to try so hard, do so well, get everyones hopes up and then NOT qualify.

Erm. I thought it's meant to be the celts that sound bitter? :dunno:

I won't be bricking it, no. I mean, I'll sit in the pub when the games are on drinking beers, but I won't be sporting any replica shirts or hugging people / screaming at the TV.

JME, how come you won't be supporting England?

I have my reasons. No doubt all pathetic and wrong, though.

Aye, I can see why many people are happy that England are going through and it's bound to provide many talking points / plenty of Patriotism / increased coverage of the tournament over the summer. But now if / when England do qualify, people will start to say "well they were bound to be there they're too good not to be there" and over-hype a team full of individuals, as they always do, which is quite annoying because the total opposite is the truth.

Big screens outside of pubs, people gathering, singing etc etc.

Can't beat it

Don't blame you mate.

I was wondering if you was Irish or something :P:dunno:

lol I do have Irish blood because of my dad, but that's not the reason I couldn't care about the English national football team. ;)

Im sure you would much rather concentrate on LCFC

Only the stupid people.

Though to be fair, this country is full of stupid people.

I'm not going to start preaching like a Scouse-Liverpool fan or a proper Man United fan from inside Manchester about how they're not English and their clubs' needs are greater than England's, but I'm actually a lot more bothered about Leicester City than I am about the national team.

Can't be bothered to read the whole thread, but...

Scotland may complain about the winner... but they would have gone out anyway...

AND if you want all decisions correct, then the 'offside' goal, should have been awarded. 2-0, game over.

I'll be honest, I laughed really hard after both results tonight :crylaugh:

And I really hope this Scottish sob story about that flippin last minute goal just wilts away, even if Italy had not have scored that goal progression would have rested on them beating Faroe Islands.

Uhm. No it wouldn't. It would have rested on the Ukrainians doing France in Kiev. I'm pretty sure?
