Uhm. No it wouldn't. It would have rested on the Ukrainians doing France in Kiev. I'm pretty sure?

Correcto.

Scotland unlucky, deserved to go through.....bollocks! There as bad as England, losing to footballing giants Georgia. Yeah they beat France home and away and fair play to them for that but when push came to shove, when the crunch came, they could'nt beat Georgia ffs. Therefore they dont deserve to go through at all, same as England probably dont. But as Milky has said, the best teams over the 12 or whatever games go through, so if England go through, they deserve it. Simple as.

Another thing, Russias penalty against us at their place. What comes around maybe? Justice will always be done.

The thing about Scotland is that although there is a certain level of quality in the team, there is a frailness and fragility about the squad that looks like it can always be exploited. Perhaps Scotland were complacent against Georgia and that's the reason why they lost, because they aren't the greatest team and they didn't motivate themselves in the same way that they would against France. The same can be said of Northern Ireland, strong against Spain and Sweden but also capable of losing to Latvia.

Scotland need some talent youngsters coming through the ranks, and get some of their players playing first team football. Fletcher isn't going to be that good for Scotland if he's not playing for Man U, let him go somewhere like Blackburn and get him playing every week. Weir didn't have a chance with Luca Toni, different class.

Try Scott Brown, Kevin Thompson, Steven Whittaker, Steven Naismith, James McFadden, Mark Wilson, Steven Fletcher and Kris Boyd on for size...

Er, those players have came through the ranks. Two different things.

Very very happy about today, Scotland close but no cigar :giggle: Now we look odds on for a spot at euro 08 and i'm sooooooooo happy. We can build now and save our form for the euro now. We always got through with Sven but never did anything. Now we have been pretty poor but can go in with no one expect us to be great and we can raise a few eyebrows.

ENGERLAND ENGERLAND ENGERLAND

Scotland though, laughing at how we are fooked and how they would be flying the flag at Euro 08 :englandsmile4wf:

All i say is ... Leave it to the big boys hey.

And why shouldn't we?

It would be a fantastic achievement for them to qualify from a group that contains the World Cup winners, runners-up AND a team that made the last eight.

Which they never which again upholds my thought that you know fook all.

I think if Scotland let in a early goal today, they will get tonked 4-0. They need to score really early on to have any chance of winning today

Very wrong = cock

They should have had a second though and that would had open the floodgates. To be honest, im just glad that we have a chance at getting to Euro 08 and Scotland after getting all cocky shall be staying home with the welsh and the irish.

Ok... now that the dust has settled... (a little bit)

I want to start by first of all congratulating the scotish for there excellent campaign in what was a difficult group. International football is not throwing up any so called easy teams anymore... (yes even san marino can score more than1 goal) so well done SCOTLAND...

So..... Fate is back in our own hands... England are back in control..... i am very very happy about this situation obviously, i had already prepared myself for the big exit, so i for one am very shocked.... People have said we dont deserve it, people have said they hate us.... The former i agree with in a sense we have not played well at all and we have been arrogant within ourselves, to think that you deserve to qualify for a tournement on merit is in my opinion a disgrace.... Just because we are England.... I am just as passionate about my country as the next man, but i am honest aswell.... i am fed up with all the hype, the songs, the media, the idiots that dont know anything about football.... They really bug me, they make me question is it all worth it, maybe im stupid but i carry on following and believing, because i cant help it... I am English, I want us to succeed....

We have so much arrogance because we won the world cup in 1966.... yes they were great, they won that tournement because they deserved it.... they wanted it!! But come on, lets stop living off that please..... im not taking anything away from them..... but why should todays players and fans be celebrating something they played no part in....

Anyway i could rant all day, believe it or not i am very happy we have put ourselves back in with a shout, but i really wish England as a whole, players and fans should take a long hard look at themselves and really say YES we were lucky.... I would give one bit of advice, dont buy the newspapers, it seems as though everybody is brainwashed by the sun or the mirror.... i dont buy them, i have my own opinions to go by..... Why do i need to read what they say....

Anyway... thats just my assessment....

Excellent news for us just hope we dont blow it..... I wont be gloating to the scots.... we cant gloat about anything.....

Fingers crossed for wednesday....

Prepare yourself for another failure on wednesday.

C'mon Croatia.

Might even watch this one, if only to compare the difference in atmospheres, same importance as the scotland game, I bet even though there will be 30,000 more fans the atmosphere at wembley won't come close to hampden.worship.gif

Like Ray wilkins said yesterday:-

the Scots all stand and get behind their team, while the English sit and wait to be entertained.

That's a bit of shame really. For me, there's always something magical about being involved in a summer tournament. Even though it always ends in heartbreak, the atmosphere is electric.

Because the money spinning corporate w*nkers don't tend to get anywhere near the away games, the real fans go out there.

You have a thought? :o

It must be VERY lonely..

if our sack of shite played with half the pride and passion that the Scotland players have shown during this campaign then we wouldn't have been relying on Israel to help us qualify!

can you see England going to Paris and winning I certainly can't

Flower of Scotland was awesome at Hampden yesterday as well

Not really but I would rather they had qualified than France or Italy. ;)

Fair play to Scotland they had a really good go, they should be proud, that group was ridiculous and I doubt we'd have qualified for it had we ended up with Italy, Scotland, and the Ukraine instead of France.

This little run has really helped Scotlands world ranking and finishing third means they shouldn't end up with anything as stupid as their current group for the next Euro qualifying campaign.

Italy deserved their win last night it's a shame they didn't take more points off France otherwise the Scots may well of qualified.

From an England perspective we were increadibly lucky last night. That last minute goal scored by Isreal has made what would of been a pretty hard task a lot easier, it could well be what sends us through. I'm still increadibly worried about Wednesday we have a severe striker shortage and Croatia, despite what some will no doubt say, are a good team.

However I dunno how many of you have noticed but had Russia beat Isreal we'd be in with quite a good chance of qualifying anyway, Croatia got beat by Macedonia last night which means we could top the group with a 2-0 win.

Which knowing us is probabley what will happen, we'll all be happy, we'll all forget we ever had a problem, and our rather glaring problems will be masked
